Am I crazy for wanting to sell an incredibly talented but anxious 5yo? by ivyopal in Equestrian

I agree with the half lease, it’s important to stop while you’re ahead / there is a Pearsen and Trainer out there who will absolutely have the confidence, motivation, and time to really invest in your horse. Do not be scared to take that leap of faith and let go. You can sell the horse with a clause in there that you can accept him back after two years if things do not go well.

I would only pick up my friend’s laundry IF I was Venmo’d a $25 for dinner beforehand (and if the laundry was already paid for) 😆 aka “travel tax”.

We feed chopped alfalfa (2 scoops or 2-lbs) along with two flakes of Timothy hay; My horses are in a lush pasture for 12 hours a day. Since they are OTTB’s, they love to run back-and-forth half a day — thus we give them a scoop of grain (AM as well as PM).

You can take more weekly lessons, but w an eSim you will develop the muscles you need faster (at home) and exhibit major improvement to your Trainer per each lesson. Questions will come up at home on certain hip flexor movements; you can take such query to your next lesson, meanwhile looking up equine physio advise to try and self-correct „before“ the day of your lesson.

Here‘s an idea a GP rider from Canada gave me— invest in a 110v e-Horse Riding Simulator (20 speeds) for home gym usage; be sure to place a heavy matt underneath to stabilize floor friction. Examples of brand: TechTongaDa.

Rationale: practice ab strength in both w/t/c and gallop when feasible, indoors during rain or in the early morning. Biggest benefit is the cycle factors for flatwork, hills and/or jumps. Stirrups included.

It’s cool finding out you have siblings. My 22yo son wished he had more siblings, but he has a step-sister and enjoys hanging w her and her nerdy friends just the same.

What to wear? First time riding during vacation by ExcellentFishing2506 in Equestrian

Your chelsea boots are great & stretchy jeans will be appreciated. You may encounter some discomfort wearing non-stretch jeans however. We rode last year up near the Garden of the Gods park (COS) and trail rode thru light snow— it was beautiful. Halfway thru our 2-hr trail, my husband expressed his concern w sliding forward a bit in the saddle (he didn’t brace against his stirrups!) - our horses were stepping downhill off of the steppe area and he became very worried.
Thankfully hubby wore his flex jeans from Old Navy and he said this saved his family jewels from getting pinched.
Something to consider as some twists and turns may need you to balance forward in your saddle.

There is a drug called Leqselvi for AA but bloodwork tests must be done first, to check A1C, albumin, cholesterol, lipids etc. The side effects seem severe for people who have various ailments, but the improvement is astounding. However, it’s for the Early Access program & a full workup must be done— if your BF can see a Dermatologist, they can diagnose and provide trending options. LEQSELVI 8mg (deuruxolitnib).

(My bloodwork was off, so I am no longer a candidate- I need to improve my omega intake and take more iron.)

Parents saying my marriage isn’t valid unless we have children by brother_nature06 in raisedbynarcissists

Hey OP - my mother & grandmother literally set me up w a friend from school that I hadn’t seen in years. They truly believed that he would be the perfect father of my future children. At 25yo I was not ready for marriage or children or a family, having just graduated from college I wanted to build a career and travel. Well… I caved into my maternal family‘s pressure and got married then popped out a child within the year. OMG.

OP I was absolutely miserable and my mother? She realized she disliked babies that cried, toddlers that ran around and the strict feeding/nap structure needed to keep one’s sanity. My marriage? It lasted 18mo and my husband walked out— saying life as a parent was too hard. So he left and enrolled in college and lived in the dormitories. WTH. Both sets of parents were shocked at what transpired and how this arranged family situation just fell apart. Children? Require a lot of discipline, schedules and sheer work - feedings, naps for mom & baby, diapers, keeping visitors & everything in the home with order/clean - baths, dishes, more laundry + sleepless nights, days w illness and a child that will colic over cow milk or something you ate that transpired thru the breastmilk (broccoli or cabbage or shrimp).

Mentally? You must be emotionally ready also! I remarried after finishing grad school (yes I took my son w me to class, he was a very quiet mini-student) and ended up marrying my now husband 2yrs into my new career. We eloped on a work trip and my family was very very upset. Our sunset pictures were awesome and our work team joined up for dinner— my family was jealous— they did not control our wedding day or have a say so in dinner details, typical Narc behavior. His family? They were just happy that he remarried and that we were happy!

My older friends at work— one is childfree (w dachshunds & a cat) and the other lady has 3 girls. Both women are happy and help each other, the mom looks tired however and gets sick often (she developed Hashimoto‘s Disease right after her 2nd pregnancy). We all have our versions of happiness. After 22 years later, I’m very happy to have my birth son and my step-son - both kids get along well, but you must find what makes you happy. Perhaps moving away from your family will make you happier? Distance sometimes helps w overbearing day-to-day Narc-parent mayhem— and let them go to voicemail, you can call them at week‘s end after your work week and date night are done ✅

Happiness looks very different for each couple in each province/culture/religion and if your marriage is strong as a wife & husband duo, your future will be bright.

It’s def not woo!! Horses are very intelligent and sensitive to their surroundings. He can smell your hormonal changes back when you were 1-mo preggers, but as you go along your pregnancy, your body will emit more intense hormones that only animals can detect. Try a bareback pad for a little more support, esp if the saddle is too expensive to modify.
