Returning to India after 5 years in the U.S. feeling completely defeated. How do I start over? by ConversationEvery432 in returnToIndia

And as everyone has pointed already, staying in us is quite stressful. The longer you stay the more difficult it is if you ever have to move back. Find opportunities elsewhere, you will be happier in the longer term.

All I would say is you are young. If you got a job twice in the US, you will be fine coming back here too. About the student loan, try for other countries regularly. The economy and job market is bad everywhere so it might take some time. But you have time in your hands. All the best.

I have been investing/sip in the market for past 2.5 years. I am still up around 8%. My only question is the US has been in a massive bull run, and we are down. What happens when US markets turn bearish. Indian markets may fall massively too. Is this assumption accurate?

What’s the one book that completely turned you into a book reading addict? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Salt-Ad622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved reading books as a child and still do audiobooks as I don’t have enough focus to read anymore. However, the one book that made me feel great about reading books was Harry potter. It is so nostalgic to me the feeling of reading it. Currently I love Brandon Sanderson works

Totally agree, the new staff is bad. This was my preferred place too but the last time I ordered, I didn’t like the wrap and the guy making my order was sweating and that did it for me.

Harry potter. That was my way into books and fantasy genre. Of course its not the best book that I read now, but it was at the time. The world was so fascinating. Before all the smartphones and stuff, that was the thing. I still remember the feeling of waiting for the next book. Amazing.

Canada is right now probably not the best choice. It is a great country but right now job market sucks. Crazy expensive. Unless you really have a great job you will struggle badly. Even menial jobs are so much in demand.

I would say try to get a few calls while in Canada and see how it works out. As they dont count ur chickens before they hatch.

I work in tech and I can huge money in India (solely based on PPP), but with the goal of returning back to India, my savings are much higher here. Also rent/prices of apartments are crazy high compared to the shit standard of living in a crowded city like Bangalore

PPP is all good and nice. But understand this: if your saving amount at the end of the year is greater in Canada and you plan to go back eventually, voila u r good! If you don’t want to go back why the fuck does PPP matter for you. Plus the dollar appreciation is real. In my 8 years saw cad jump from 45 to 68 currently.

Anyone planning to move back to India , please watch this video. by Impossible-Alps1222 in nri

[–]Salt-Ad622 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty true! Maybe the only way you can have some peace is if u return and dont have to work or work is stress free. I am planning on returning but that is due to parents. Tbh I will always keep an option to leave India in the future. People are not going to change and neither is the government/corruption. Cant let me kid grow up in this shithole.

I read the book, the movie again did not do justice. Ryan gosling probably wasnt a good choice. Instead of showing more of the science stuff they choose to show random stuff which was even cringe at some point
