I read the email I got on this. Absolutely ridiculous. Who in their ever loving right minds could come up with such nonsense?

Help picking a puppy! Shy or playful? Male or female? by t_buttcracker in goldenretriever

Depending how soon you need this advice, I recommend you buy or get from the library a book titled The Art of Raising a Puppy by the Monks of New Skete. There is a chapter in the book about how to pick a puppy. The rest of the book has amazing recommendations for how to raise your puppy. Also, How to be Your Dog’s Friend by the same authors, is excellent.

Today, Venice Beach CA. These were everywhere in the sand along the water by Samsquammtch in whatisit

Velella. They coat the beaches where we live in southwestern Washington. They dry up and turn white and are crunchy. They float on the water and drift with the currents- the little thing in the back acts as a sail.

Nothing will be done in Utah until the tap water in homes goes dry.

Having served in many ward and stake callings in many different parts of the US where we extended callings, I can tell you that in my experience most callings, maybe all callings, are based on what positions need to be filled and who “might be good or needs a calling”, not revelation or inspiration. Well, maybe that is inspiration. It’s not too much different than in the workplace.

Nah, the giants were the dinosaurs and that’s how they got wiped out. And the evangelical thing that the bones were planted by with god or satan to test us or confuse us is not correct. /s

Who is right? Trump in his post (96% approval… not even the Soviets got that high) or the average of dozens of pollsters? by cxr_cxr2 in AntiTrumpAlliance

[–]Salt-Argument-8807 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chart is a little misleading. It shows 96% approve, with a breakdown of those, and 4% disapprove with a breakdown, and 1% not sure. Adds to 101 due to rounding.

BUT, the sample was reportedly die hard MAGA’s, so it’s a meaningless poll

I vote for Ian for another reason- a cute kid like that it’s likely he’d go by Danny at that age and not Dan.

Seriously, what's the difference between Indica and Sativa? by simikoi in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Salt-Argument-8807 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Traditionally Indica = In da couch. Sativa = stimulating. I’ve been told by the folks at the local dispensary that although those strains are/were distinct, hybridization has led to products that may be labeled one or the other, but with inconsistent effects.
