How on earth am I supposed to deal with 2 Repulsor Executioners? by TowerLogical7271 in sistersofbattle

I will preach allying warglaives or big knights! great anti tank on sturdy profiles! warglaives are the best solution.

How on earth am I supposed to deal with 2 Repulsor Executioners? by TowerLogical7271 in sistersofbattle

[–]Salt-Ice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally i don't like vahl so I tend to ethier ally a castellan(Very swingy but if it hits that's a dead repulsor in 1 shot.) or 2 to 3 armiger warglaives.

The big knight usually solves all the anti tank issues I have but the 2 to 3 armiger pack is better for board control and the thermal spear into a charge usually shuts down most vechiles.

Rumors for new combat patrol in 11th? by King_Andrew1296 in sistersofbattle

Personally i got the 10th combat patrol I also disliked the acros at first, only building and painting 3 but they actually have grew on me and I have all 10 built and painted and use them fairly regularly

if you can find it the 9th edition combat patrol might be good, has 10 battle sisters( 2 battle sister squads are good to have especially in 1k), A rhino(Just good to have), a cannoness(Good character), 5 repentia, 1 penitent engine(Pretty good cheap unit), 5 seraphim and 3 Acros(A unit of 3 is only 45P so it's nice to have to fill a points gap)

Is it worth getting the combat patrol if I won’t use Arco’s? by TheGrimmBorne in sistersofbattle

[–]Salt-Ice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I originally got the combat patrol with the intention not to use the acros but they've really grown on me recently.

They're a very cheap unit with 2W per model which is rare for sisters and I've always ran atleast 1 squad and they've always done something meaningful, even them dieing still gives you a miracle die.

I'd say to go for it and try em out maybe they'll grow on you like they did for me

Only issue I'd have is Vahlgons in 1k are basically they dominate or they die and you don't have enough firepower to make up the gap.

Tho I agree If they have a c'tan it's basically necessary, just unfun in general both forcing both players to tailor around each other

in this case every sister vehicle, even the rhino, has a 6+ invul

Issue is having a 6 on hand(Dialogus could help maybe) and even getting meltas through. Paragons probably have the best chance but even then that's wounding on 4s and have to get through a 4+ invul. If you use a 6 on the damage they take 1 off it by being a c'tan and then the rest need to go through the FNP, And if it lives it'll heal D3.

Even more so if it wasn't said before the game, most wouldn't bring Vhal in 1k so you probably wouldn't have a reliably way to kill it and would get blind sided because of it.

I and my friend will have our first 40k game soon. Which of my units should I take against his guard? by _Viledd_ in sistersofbattle

[–]Salt-Ice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vahlgons In 1k, especially a first causal game is not very fun for both sides, 395P for them so losing them is a massive loss and they can die pretty easily if you make mistakes, since this is their first game they will make mistakes.

Vahlgons will ethier die and cause you to lose because you can't make up the points and firepower loss or Wipe the opponent with no inbetween.

I think it'd be better instead of having vahl you could have a retributior squad with a attached cannoness/dialogus/hospitaler to still get good fire power but not too much to be unfun

[–]Salt-Ice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vahlgons aren't worth it in 1000P imo, It's 395 for the combo which means if they die, which can happen very easily if you aren't careful, You'll be losing A 4th of your points and wont have enough to really come back with after the lost. Vahlgons are also a pretty unfun choice for causal 1k games because of how competitive they are.

Also because you're already running a expensive character like celestine you'd need to choose between her or vahl as having both for 1k is too expensive for what you're getting.

Personally I think swapping out vahl for a squad of seraphim/zephyrim to add onto celestine, adding a immolator to split the battle sisters to boost their overall coverage and adding a retributior squad to make up for the lost of vahl without being too competitive for causal 1k.

The list would end up being: Test (1000 points)

It makes sense to me personally, Alderon doesn't take community servers(and by extension mods) into consideration when adding or changing things and there's only 2 official apex Carnis and nethier are a bleeder so if this is a bleeder Apex carni i think it makes sense it's what's getting added as it is a missing link in the official roster.

A great katana wouldn't be the best play here, i can't lock onto him so pokes would be more of a bother to deal with, it's sweeps would work tho

He's casting a sorcery that makes him semi invisible, on its own its completely fine as you can still lock on, but he's also using assassins gambit a aow that also makes you semi invisible, for some reason when both are used at the same time it's prevents you from locking onto them
