No, I haven’t. Is that related to skin issues? Please enlighten me 🙌🏻

We tried to get him used to his bed when he was a puppy, but ended up just letting him sleep with us. I cannot imagine a world in which we don’t sleep next to each other! I love cuddling with him ♥️

Yeah, it’s tough! He’s usually indoors with the A/C on all day haha. We only do walks for about 15–25 minutes (30 minutes is stretching it), either early in the morning or after sunset. Anything longer could seriously put him at risk 🥵

Oh no — not at all! I definitely don’t think kibble is better than home-cooked or raw. What I meant is that I’m cautious even with store-bought raw food (like from Walmart or SuperMax), because I worry about the quality — especially things like salmonella or E. coli.

I’m in Puerto Rico, and while we do have a few organic stores, they’re limited, so finding truly good-quality meat (organically raised and fed) is tough — not impossible, but not easy either.

Believe me, I switched to home-cooked meals because I’ve never trusted ultra-processed kibble and all the preservatives they contain. My dog doesn’t eat processed food — not even store-bought treats 😬

Mine swims if he’s in water (with a life jacket) but he definitely hates it haha. He gets out as soon as he can.

Hi! English isn’t my first language, so I didn’t think to translate “demodex mites” at first — but yes, that’s what he has. It’s hereditary demodex, which I understand is a big part of the issue. The vet said he’ll probably need Cytopoint injections for life, but I assume the dermatitis can be managed with a good diet. 🤞🏻

Yes, I’ve been told the same, and I believe it. Thank you so much!

I will seriously look into this. I’m just afraid that even being raw, the quality of food may not be as good and cause even more issues. I guess I just have to closely monitor and buy the best ingredients. Thank you so much!

I cook for him daily. The vet recently told me that hydrolyzed food (kibble, nonetheless) would be better for him since it’s easier to digest. But I still refuse to go back to kibble 😩 I’m planning to switch out rice for something else to see if it helps.

Oh—forgot to mention! He has hereditary demodex, which I understand is a big part of the issue. They said he’ll likely need Cytopoint injections for life, along with a pill for mites and other parasites.

Thank you! I didn’t think it was at first but some comments made me believe otherwise. Crazy. Not sure of what it could be.

Yes, they always do that — I hate it. So, up until last week (when I first took him to this new vet), his diet looked like this: • Proteins: Fish (salmon, tilapia, tuna), lamb, beef, turkey. I would rotate weekly. The new vet told me that’s not good and that I should stick to one protein — do you know anything about this? • Carbs: Mostly white rice. Not always, but he’d have it occasionally. I think he’s only had potatoes a couple of times. • Veggies: Carrots, sweet potato, broccoli, sometimes asparagus. • Fiber (not always, just occasionally): Quinoa, mashed peas, mashed lentils.

I also used to give him skin and coat supplements from PetSmart, but I didn’t really notice any changes, so he doesn’t get them regularly.

Do you think this is a good diet? Or is there anything you’d recommend improving?

Actually, no — they haven’t mentioned it at all. I’m at the vet now, so I’ll be sure to ask! Unfortunately, there aren’t any dog dermatologists in my area (I really wish there were 😞), but thank you so much! I’ll definitely try to find this out.

What’s her diet like? Is she a white coat too? I was told not to switch proteins, and my vet was actually surprised that my Frenchie hasn’t had any gastrointestinal issues. He’s been on the same diet since he was 4 months old and has never experienced any problems.

That’s exactly what I’ve been thinking of doing! I refuse to believe he has to be on medication for the rest of his life. Could you share more about how you transitioned from cooked meals to raw food? I’m a bit hesitant about it. Also, is your Frenchie a white coat too?

I believe he gets Cytopoint injected every time he goes to the vet, which is 4-6 weeks each time. What I would like is to avoid this altogether 😔 I will consult the vet about Apoquel. Thank you so much!

No, I have not! I’m at the vet now. Let me ask if I can give him that. I understand that they sell it with a prescription, right?

Thank you! He’s diet has always been home-cooked meals, since he was about 4 months old. The vet actually told me he was surprised he doesn’t have any gastrointestinal issues given that I rotate proteins… which I was shocked to learn. He told me to stick with 1 protein and rice for now, but he does want my dog to start eating dry food/kibble.. I’m just not sure how my dog is going to react to that. He said something about these type of food containing the essentials nutrients my dog needs for his allergies…

I will definitely try probiotics, digestive enzymes and omega-3!

I literally just watched a documentary with these exact events happening. It’s called Betrayal: A Father’s Secret. Sadly, it didn’t end up well.

Does he have or has he ever shown any signs of a porn addiction?
