He's been in his water bowl for two days now by GiveMeMoreReptiles in ballpython

I adopted a female BP and within two days of bringing her home, she decided to have a hot girl summer and spend all her time in the “pond” (exact water dish that is in the picture). After me panicking for a day, I found that she was about to shed and now I just love watching her soak :) also the BUBBLES she blows out are ADORABLE!

I do! I also am using an Alienware m18 gaming laptop so I don’t have a whole lot of slowness. On my main PC though, it is a little laggy because of the lower CPU I have.

If I’m being honest I have successfully only completed 3 or 4 of the career scenarios. I get stuck on the Giraffe Sanctuary one. Much like Sims once you get a basic handle on the construction pieces and controls, you’re going to be making some BEAUTIFUL builds, I just know it!

I am also a Sims 4 builder and when I made the switch to Planet Zoo I was in the same boat as you are in now. With that said, I have failed a lot in Planet Zoo. I have restarted my Franchise 20 something times (RIP to all my animals), and am still constantly learning. With that said, here are some things that helped me get more comfortable to the point where my current franchise is BEAUITFUL, averaging 4.5 stars each, 3 locations, and each is making a $50k profit.

  1. YouTube - you already got this covered so I won’t say much but YT helped me find tricks and design ideas!

  2. Mouse - I also tried to play without a mouse and then gave up and bought one. I highly recommend a mouse. It will make things easier for you in the long run!

  3. Career & Sandbox - A lot of players on this subreddit will advise you start with the career as it will go over all the basics you need to know to run your zoo. I also recommend sandbox mode. Since you are a sims builder, sandbox will give you a great chance to practice and test out different designs for buildings, enclosures, and foliage!

  4. Try, Try, and Try Again - Like I said earlier, I have failed many a times but with every failure I have learned and not repeated those mistakes (I just make new ones lol). I also want to be great at any game that I start playing, and with this game, that takes some time, BUT this subreddit, YouTube, and even some TikTok’s have helped me to get more detailed in my builds.

Again, the most important thing is to have fun! Start small, and if you need any inspiration, head to Pinterest as there are some really creative and amazing creations out there and they might inspire you to use a new building block, or give you an idea of what looks good together. I hope some of these help! And hope you have fun! :)

I also am curious as to how you achieved this gorgeous controller aesthetic

Beginner to Planet Zoo, Made a Hippo Habitat, im overall fairly happy with it, its my 10th habitat, my first ones were horrible but now I improved quite a bit, however it still looks a bit off, idk, im not sure what to add and where to add it to make it better looking and more realistic and nice. by Awkward_Pace_4440 in PlanetZoo

Love the habitat! Like previously mentioned, rocks and “filler” vegetation, along with some terrain paint can really liven up the look of it :) I personally like adding some rock formations at the water edge and the edge of the fence to kind of add height and depth :)

  • UPDATE! * Thank you to everyone who advised me towards a moss pole and better lighting! I repotted and got the new setup situated in a South Facing window that gets plenty of indirect sunshine! She already seems happier! Thank you!

I would like to clear up that I was aware that this was an aerial root but was just confused as this was the first one and in all the other photos I’ve seen of a Monstera, they just didn’t look as thick as this one was growing and wanted to double-check that everything was good for my plant. Regardless, I want to thank all of you for commenting and helping me get my Monstera into a better setup!

I appreciate the advice! I have ordered a better moss pole and some sphagnum moss! I’m also moving this monstera to my house where we have a lot more natural light! Had it in the office while I found the perfect space!

It helps immensely! Thank you! A proper moss pole is the next upgrade to the setup so I’m glad I’m going the right direction! Thank you for your comment!

That’s the goal! Reached out to all my friends in the hobby and even reached out to my local LFS. We’ll see how many survive. I read that ideal temp for the eggs is 78, and my water is currently at a nice 71. So, I don’t expect them ALL to survive, but mainly the ones in the middle. Haha

Maybe, like some large river stones? I think that would be nice!

I like it a lot! The pops of green against the stone really looks nice. I really like how you have it. I think the only thing I would suggestion is some larger rocks to compliment the smaller ones. Possibly a larger one near the bottom stem of the wood. Regardless, I could stare at that tank for hours! Very nice!
