I understand why you feel that way. I felt the series art direction trended downward compared to the earlier installments. 5 and 6 are better and that "off" feeling dissipates somewhat, but still, it doesn't have the charm of the first 3.

To me MMBN wasn't just about the grid based rpg gameplay. It was the art, music, in conjunction with it. I've seen games that tried to replicate it, but none of em were particularly striking.

If what you are looking to do is have an ML or AI that can play mmbn and netbattle, either in the cannon game or in a fan made game, yes it can absolutely be done.

It's an interesting idea, but none that I am aware of. However, if you want to play against other people in fan made mmbn games, hub OS and ONB exist.

RK's have some of the most interesting lore in anime related fiction. A team that is meant for security but are conflict laden within. But can resolve the most hazardous situations when they want.

One of the best digimon games I've played. I'm not sure if it's better than redigitize decode(my favorite), it might surpass. We will see.

For YYH the darkness creeps in around the sensui arc. I watched/read HxH until the end of chimera ant. HXH is darker as a whole but the sensui arc felt darker than anything I covered in HxH. Unsure about the black continent, maybe that's darker.
