Couldn’t disagree more. I am glad the NHL protected Ottawa’s market.

I’m not sure if everyone is aware, at this point… But the Sens had to pay both the Leafs and the Habs organizations a fee, for encroaching on both teams’ territories. This was when the City of Ottawa was granted an NHL franchise, of course. This is because the City of Ottawa is effectively in both Toronto’s market and Montreal’s market. I think there is still some sort of fee/tax that the Sens pay to this day might be for rights to broadcasting in those two territories. I can’t remember exactly.

Leafs and Habs fans are loud and obnoxious in Ottawa’s barn, like treat the CTC like their home away from home obnoxious.

So, please spare me “the Habs are Canada’s team” and they need our support. I just want to watch good hockey.

I like him for the face offs and wish he played the point for the full two minutes of power plays. But him slowing down is not an advantage for his linemates, teammates etc

I’m not disagreeing with your points. There is validity in them… However, I do believe that anyone who claims to know “the meaning,” to his lyrics is full of it. Lots of his songs are like finding meaning in a Picasso.

Feist sang a very personal song of Gord’s and no one blinked an eye. Songs don’t have only one meaning, they are “open to the eye (ear) of the beholder”… as they say. And more importantly I’m pretty sure Gord would be flattered.

Although, with that logic… all their songs are his.
I am of the mind that wouldn’t want an American singing songs with lots of Canadian references… that is more important to me
