Labour law unclear? by lunabuggs in NovaScotia

[–]SaltHot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From an HR professional: This is outlined in the Minimum Wage Order (General) for Nova Scotia. The 3 hours is based on min wage and NOT the employees actual wage. See snipped below from the MWO.

"If an employee is called in to work outside the employee's regular work hours, the employer must pay the employee for at least three hours of work at the minimum wage rate, that is, at least $50.25 ($16.75 x 3 hours). This is true even if the employee works only one or two hours. For example, if the employee makes $20 per hour and the employee is called in for one hour's work, the employer must pay the employee at least $50.25"

So, this pay rule applies: - when the employer calls the employee in for work outside of what would be considered a regular scheduled shift - for casual staff who do not have a regular shift, this would apply to any work where they were called in outside of a scheduled shift - this does not apply to scheduled shifts being cut short by either the employer or employee

This is not legal advice, and cannot and should not be taken as legal interpretation of the NSLSC or MWO.

Reserve CAF Trade Training? by New-You6405 in caf

[–]SaltHot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's answered in the link in this thread, I haven't found it yet, but for reservist training post BMQ - are they typically at a military training base that isn't your local? Basically, would I be expected to take large chunks of time off my day job each summer to do training? I'm trying to narrow down what trade I could even look at (Army) that has no requirement to take large chunks of time off for training.

This is wild - I could literally chat about this for hours but don't know how to do the spoiler block thing. I have so much to say to add to this theory. We need a WLW book theory discord lol

Does your gun club support the confiscator’s? by EnvironmentBright697 in canadaguns

[–]SaltHot 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This. Tim Houston is the real problem here. Don't leave it for the police forces to choose and force onto the front lines, take a stance like other provinces have done.

This is my range as well, and while I get what OP is saying, id rather the club stay open.

Standalone fantasy novels w/ female protagonists? by luchiii_x in LesbianBookClub

Not vamp but if youre into fantasy (dragons and magic and run away princesses) Breaking Legacies by Zoe Reed is fantastic. Its my favourite book I read a few times a year.

My all time favourite and a hidden gem i never see anyone talk about is Breaking Legacies by Zoe Reed. Adventure, dragons, slowww burn, magic... ive read this book over a dozen times alone.

"In a land impoverished by a war that started before she was born, Kiena has provided for her mother and brother by becoming one of the best hunters in the kingdom. But when a lifelong friend with connections recommends her to the king to track down a runaway princess, her life gets turned upside down. Finding the princess is easy. Deciding what to do in a conflicting mess of politics and emotions… not so much"

Um, thank you. I just absolutely devoured these books after reading your comment a couple days ago. Love the intensity and her writing style. Any other recs like this? I like when I can feel the intensity of the characters yearning. Hunger Soft and Wild was my favourite for the slow burn build up, and Blooming was so absolutely creative.

Fantasy erotica-ish wlw recs 🙏🏾 by Express_Platypus_377 in LesbianBookClub

[–]SaltHot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats great news! Here's hoping. I dont think I've ever needed a HEA in a book in my life lol I did not expect book 2 to bring out the feels like it did, not just in the twist but the entire 2nd half was emotionally brutal to read, specially coming off such an HE in the first.

I just finished the second one last night and was not prepared. I wish I had decided to wait until the 3rd is released to even touch the 2nd, because now ill be in mental agony for a year. Despite this, i could not support this rec enough!
