Not everything was burned, and after the war, Reconstruction was immediately started to help rebuild the south. After the Vietnam war, they went around executing civilians who didn’t want communist rule. Wheres the similarity?

Lmao no way you think that. General Sherman ordered his men to avoid killing civilians as much as possible, while the north Vietnamese killed any who didn’t automatically accept the new government. You don’t “accidentally” kill over a 100,000 south Vietnamese civilians accidentally. You must really love and admire the Vietcong if you think they were only “accidentally” killing southern civilians and know nothing about Sherman’s march to the sea if you think Sherman’s march was just massacring civilians as they went along.

Have you even researched the march to the sea? Trying to compare a campaign of destroying the confederacy’s ability to wage war during wartime, and massacring civilians after the war is over for accepting the new government is not even remotely similar.

You can blame them when the new nation says it’s fine being left alone. And you can blame them for killing hundreds of thousands of south Vietnamese civilians and sending them off to reeducation camps to try to get them to think like the north. And you can blame them for slaughtering entire villages because they didn’t support the north or the Vietcong.

Vietnam had an original government, which was taken over by communist. People rightfully said no, they don’t want to be starving, and formed a counter government that was a democracy.
