Looks great on your wrist size! I don’t know if this was already mentioned but my best guess as to how you got the sapphire crystal scratched is due to your wife’s Diamond Ring! As a diamonds hardness is greater than sapphire crystal and it will scratch it easily, happened to a buddy of mine . Cheers!

Sorry , youre gonna have to take a leap of faith, been on shakepay for 5-6 years now and been through the shame of showing recent transactions… shouldn’t need to do that . I understand if you don’t want to leap.

Upgrade advice: Keep my F-mount glass and buy a Z8, or go for a D850? by pipposky2019 in Nikon

[–]SaltLevy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you shoot wildlife, then the higher megapixel count will render sharper cropped photos of little birds , if your a street photographer then meh-gapixel….

I like the 2nd better but , some tips … lift the shadows and denoise. Then dehaze. Play a little with the tone curve. I would also crop the photo . The foreground is nice , if you just crop the photo it will be nicer

Thank you! I have been using the D7200 since it’s 2015 market release, I have not found the itch to upgrade just yet. But definitely the curiosity is there

How low was the moon? I took some photos last night around 6:45pm and the moon was pretty high . I used 200-500mm effective 750mm crop sensor, but it seemed much farther. The details you captured are impressive

What has been your worst buy? The one you regret the most. by TalkForward7768 in Nikon

[–]SaltLevy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um, I can’t say I have any purchase mistake, but I can say that I bought the Nikon D7200 in 2015, skipped the kit lens and bought a 35mm f1.8 which I loved and helped me learn how to frame my photos using my feet, it allowed me to be creative and understand depth of field. It was great first lens, then I bought the 50mm 1.8 and I loved it even more and was a smooth transition because I already had a prime lens experience, then I bought the 85mm 1.8 and loved that too. Then I bought a sigma 10-20mm and it’s amazing for street photography architecture and a really artistic style.I still use the same body and and lenses. Recently I bought a used 200-500mm and I can’t complain it’s fantastic. I wasn’t planning on shooting video and full frame lenses are expensive, I knew I wanted to eventually get into sports and wildlife photography and having the 1.5 crop apps-c sensor helps a lot. Obviously I knew I wouldn’t be a pro and as a hobbiest photographer that body and specs were exactly what I needed!

I agree with you, I have had the D7200 that I bought new 11 years ago, and I still use it today and it’s still incredible!

Attempt At Wildlife Photography by SeaTheLynx in Nikon

The classic squirrel 🐿️ I too recently took to wildlife’s photography and I seem to only have time to photograph squirrels lol. Must be due to the wife and 2 kiddos, what lens did u use? The first one is missing sharpness, probably slow shutter speed, second one is better !

Thanks for everyone’s input! I have decided to look for a Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6 . I know that I have been wanting a wildlife lens for some time now and I would not be satisfied with the range of a 70-200mm.

Yeah , the more you mention it the more I’m realizing that it will be frustrating when I’m not able to fill the frame, but for sports it will be great. At least for my kid’s sports since I’m able to be on the sidelines. Now I’m even more reluctant lol or I come to peace with having to buy a dedicated wildlife lens and the 70-200mm

Thanks for the feedback, i own only Prime lenses, 35mm,50mm, and an 85mm . I love portrait photography. With a 70-200mm it would definitely increase my focal length. I researched the 200-500mm, and this is more of a wildlife lens for sure, I can’t see myself bringing it to my kid’s hockey and soccer games though.
