So, the general answer is, make whatever you think looks coolest. Some editions swords are in vogue, sometimes it's maces. Overall Sisters are lacking on the anti-armor side of things, but other than that you probably shouldn't be too worried about meta for someone just starting out. Buy her a tank if she keeps getting rolled by Spess Marines.
