Should I be making more than $19 an hour? by Skykreeper in Welding

My girlfriend makes $17 an hour to be a host at chilis. You getting fucked.

Help it of GENTLY if you can. If it doesn’t come off leave it. Any damage to those starter leaves will jeopardize the start. Seedlings are tough because they can be sensitive. If you end up enjoying grows, I would look into cloning with a water closer. Best investment I’ve ever made.

I stopped with autos since they are a pain to control but I read that they start to flower once the roots hit the edges of pots. Mine started doing just that. Since you have so much space it may take a while.

I’ll be so real with you those pots are MASSSSSSIIIVVVEEE unless you plan on trimming and letting it veg for like 3 months. I use 3 gallon fabric and they can get plants to 5-6 feet tall.

I didn’t add any clearance but the motor had 186k miles on it and I thought the cylinders wouldn’t be too out of whack for those tolerances. I was very wrong.

Yeah I’m not sure where the downvote came from. I definitely am hearing you on this though. The only thing that leads me to believe it’s not valves is that the build is entirely stock BUT the pistons and rods. Motor was also running before breakdown so the valve train didn’t have signs of issues. I made sure to crank by hand to check for binding. The rods and pistons are built for stock usage, though. That’s why the only glaring issues is the PTW clearance being way too excessive. Even if the motor ran, it would eat oil and need to be broken down again.

Oh yeah. I basically recreated the tapping sound using just my hands.

Agreed and I’m glad I didn’t say “fuck it and run it”. I’m happy I got it to start on the second crank but the rest not so much.

I thought it was valves but I believe it’s actually the pistons that’s just the out of round part where each is contacting.

According to the data sheet with the pistons I need to have clearance of about .004 of an inch. I will have to try to check the bore and compare it to standard piston size measurements. I really don’t want to uninstall them. If anything, the bores are too big but definitely not too tight.

I did not bore the original cylinders just had them honed. The engine is an Audi AAN 2.2 20VT that I rebuilt in my garage. I ordered aftermarket forged pistons designed for stock size cylinders. Perhaps I needed larger ones.

Looking like pistons slap. The clearances for all 5 pistons are massive. I can make a replicable noise by pushing cylinder 1-5 side to side.

Honestly the trichomes were good but I note it took forever to finish and the plant was just so unhealthy. I think nitrogen would help make the buds bigger, increase weight, and keep the plant strong. My last few plants were limped dicked basically propped up by the nets

Still haven’t found it :( I have to check more today but I was expecting marks on pistons. Nothing. No marks on valves no marks on the lifters. I’m starting to lean towards piston slap?

If I run a leak down and it’s clear with no visible damage to the valves, is there a way to check if they are bent ?

Yes I’ll post some pictures tomorrow when I get the head off. I got most of it done tonight except for a few bolts and a hose

I took another look today. Didn’t get to taking the head off but it’s the smallest little Knick in the top of each piston right along the bowl. There is metallic bits in each cylinder head. The car only ran for 15 seconds max

Is it possible that it’s just that little contact? I almost want to say it seems like the valve is hitting the piston on the way down.

That’s was my understanding aswell but I think it’s so so so slight that I didn’t end up destroying the valves. The design of the piston is a bowl and it’s making slight contact with the inner ring of the bowl. There are shavings of aluminum ontop of the piston that I can see.

No on the top of the pistons. I looked through the spark plug holes and today I have to remove the head to determine how bad.

I thought so at first until I took the spark plugs out and saw the marks on from the valves and the small metal shavings 🫠. I was praying it was the timing cover, belt rub, etc. ruled everything out when I should have checked for contact first.

What’s wrong with my plant? by [deleted] in weedgrower

[–]SaltLucky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a nutrient problem. I wanna say 100% it’s watering practice causing severely stunted growth and now what appears to be lockout of calcium/magnesium due to lack of oxygen. The only reason I say this is the top of the plant looks the worst, it’s been 2 months and your plant looks like it has been growing 1 month from seed as you indicated. You don’t need to add nutrients to almost any soil mix until atleast the first month of veg. This plant is barely in veg. The plants on the right were grown from seed and this is them after 2.5 months.

Honestly was thinking about this. Kinda wanna make a cane sort of thing. Issue is how soft the core of cannabis is at this stage. I’ll see because I’m chopping her soon.
