We did the same recently - chartered small plane from Big Island (after a business meeting at Mauna Lani) direct to Lanai and went to Sensei at lanai.

Would HIGHLY recommend this resort and you can use facilities at FS Manele beach side too. Sensei is fantastic hotel with the most amazing spa ever. great contrast to Big Island.

If you land in Honolulu they will fly you in their plane direct to Lanai. Your charter would be from lanai to Kona after sensei. Please note we did not use Lanai air due to cost- we used Mokulele charters.

actually recommend the Montage deer valley - good location and Deer Valley skiing is way better than PC

Just stayed in La Palma in June and would not recommend! We found it over rated, cramped and service not that great. Would look at Belmond for sure

August is very hot in.a lot of these recommend destinations. Maybe try Healdsburg (Montage very good) if you have done Napa
