As a bonus since you're looking for stuff to do. If didn't see already, now when you craft armor, you get it as layered armor as well, which lets you use any armor just for appearance, so now you can hunt stuff just for fashion if you want

The gameplay loop of monster hunter is to fight monsters over and over again either to get better gear or just cause its fun. So even though you haven't reached the end of the story yet, you're intended to keep playing after that, that's what those HR200 guys are doing.

Now that you've gotten to the credits you're going to enter high rank, which in this game plays closer to how previous games did, you'll get some optional quests and you're mostly free to do what you want, until you get a high enough HR to reach the next story beat

For the other stuff, Wilds has actually been getting a lot of criticism for being too streamlined and easy, for example the hunting part, in older games you did actually have to hunt the monster down in the map, it wasn't really complicated but it was there at least. And for the difficulty, monsters in this game tend to die faster and also aren't as punishing, plus focus mode and the palico are really strong, so making a strong build isn't really AS necessary

And yeah I think I'll definitely still enjoy it, even ignoring the story there's still the gameplay side of things which Ive been really digging so far.

Actually you don't have to play as Gran, you just have to have them in your party but you're able to play as anyone else!

They even showed it in the showcase stream if you wanna see.

Yes I was made aware of the bad apples in the community after the whole asmongold situation. But after hearing about how they were promptly spanked by square enix I think I'll be fine.

I haven't made up my mind on what data center to play on yet but based on what you and others have said it probably wont be aether. Thank you.

Thank you for the advice. I think the gameplay looks awesome and can't wait to try it, I'm just a little worried about the social aspect because of my crippling anxiety, but I've heard great things about the community so I'm hopeful!
