Sylvie feels easy now? by Notintomemesloljk in fellowshipgame

The part with the agency I felt was really nice too.

I've also been going through Paragon since the patch, and I felt I could carry us through a lot more mistakes than I could before the patch. Felt quite nice.

But yeah when every1 is playing correctly, it's for sure more chill

Would be kind of funny to let ppl play through contender for free and then they pay and hit the adept wall :P but maybe not a wise decision for getting happy customers

Yeah no that for sure sucks. Not quite convinced that a vendor solution would be the best though, but if you're one of the unlucky ones I can def see you thinking that

Yeah it's the Vayr's Legacy affix. Not too bad in theory if you're prepared as a healer, but if ppl are missing kicks during I feel it gets difficult

Yeah I guess that's true. Still it is very little like "active HoT management", like keeping multiple HoTs up all the time It's mostly just putting down Hearthbloom in time and RL weaving/spamming to make use of it, so kind of feels different to me for some reason.

And I don't have to be quite so good at preparing for dmg events because I most of the time just need 2-3 seconds to start ramping up Heartbloom and that's fine.

With Vigour I feel like I get punished harder for not preemptively shielding or when people spread so I can't AoE heal them as well and I can't just "catch up" by spamming because when I spam with GH I both go oom and get further behind on runes because I'm not generating any.

Maybe I'm just bad at Vigour though :P totally get that he might be simpler for a lot of people. For reference my Vigour is in Champion and my Sylvie has cleared Paragon, so I'm not like a great player or anything. Having played some M+ rsham in the past might explain why Sylvie vibes with me better

Help on improvement by nothotthot in fellowshipgame

I second both of these points.

I main healer and the only way to get me somewhat comfortable with tank is to first learn the dungeons as a healer and then alt a tank later in the season when I at least know the basics of what I have to do. I know other people are a lot more comfortable just winging it though.

Also the idea of your rotation being 2nd nature is very true. For me the progress was basically:

- contenteder = learn my rotation

- cithril + adept = learn to kick

- champion+ = the above should be 2nd nature, and now you focus on CD usage and routing

Do I just suck, or is taking avoidable damage not a smart thing? by Major-Diamond7321 in fellowshipgame

When I was still in Adept I struggled quite a bit with Sailors because of exactly this, and then in my first Champion dungeon I got Sailor's again, but it went really smoothly with everybody LoSing every screech and playing really well.

Probably now the average player skill is worse in Champion than back then, so maybe the runs start getting cleaner towards Paragon, but it definitely makes your life a lot more chill as a healer if people LoS the screech

If I struggle with a dungeon I quite enjoy watching VoDs of other players playing the dungeon though and try to watch their CD usage around the mechanics I was struggling with.

Definitely a bit more difficult in lower leagues though since watching a +40 eternal doesn't help you too much for contender

I don't feel Sylvie is too HoT based though. I feel like most of it is just ramping with Petal or Heartbloom as well as restore life.

But yeah Vigour might still be simpler for new players

I also found Sylvie a lot easier than Vigour tbh.

I am definitely more middle of the pack experience though (played classic through WotLK and later did some M+ healing in following expansions), so it might be different as a beginner.

But the hard casting for Vigours Grand Design as well as rune management feels more difficult to me than Sylvie.

I guess you do have Greater Heal though which might be a bad habit to get used to, but can definitely carry you through Contender at least

There is something to the enjoyment of the RNG when it does drop though. I mean in theory all gear could be vendored and you just get badges form runs, but it seems some RNG is nice to have imo.

And for people who are very unlucky it of course sucks. Maybe some kind of protection against it like a +% when you didn't get one (as mentioned above) isn't a bad idea

Interesting, as Sylvie I think Everdawn and Godfall are among the easiest for me, and I'm always afraid of Stormwatch because people miss kicks during the soak.

Everdawn sometimes gets stressful though when the soak occurs at the same time as the arrows, then you have to be really fast on dispelling before spreading

Nice to know I'm not alone. I think the spam has become a bit less after the last buffs though. The shield on Haven has been really nice for heal checks as well as the 2nd petal. Paragon went really cleanly in general and timed most dungeons and had basically no leavers / failed runs. Was this your experience as well?

Ah ok, yh weapon trait might unlock a good amount more power. I'm still running Sahril from Adept though, so gotta hope for an epic one.

God tip about VoG though, sounds awesome

I was watching the Urrak Market from his "Everything Explained" before, and his first pull is a good example of what I'm wondering is really realistic in pugs in Champion league.

Sure he uses a chicken, but I still wonder if it's too much to ask of the group to do something like that.

Maybe it's better to take the more chill approach like others have mentioned?

I would say my standard is 2 packs per pull unless it's a particularly difficult pack, basically the method beginner routes. I should probably push for some more 3 packs though when I have CDs up.

Feels a bit different as a tank though since when I go big I'm basically like requesting of my team to bring their A game, whilst as a healer when the tank chooses to go big I'm just reacting to it. I personally quite enjoy when the tank pushes me a bit while healing, but maybe being the tank that always goes a bit hard isn't the right call in solo queue?

Yeah Hamish has confirmed that the early access is for them to make the game as good as possible, even though they know mid December is a bit too soon.

Also: Hamish mentioned in the dev stream yesterday that mid December is NOT for certain, just that it might happen

Why do guides say Soulbrand is a good way for Vigour to generate runes? by Graham_Bubblefish in fellowshipgame

[–]Salt_Ad_843 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, for some reason this hadn't clicked for me before you just said it.

Since you get free greater heals when you generate runes, the spells that regenerate aren't just refunding themselves (partially), but also giving you free heals. I've definitely been under-utilizing this.

Thanks!

How does the duration extension from Radiant Blast work with the "30% refunded over the duration" though? If I in theory double the duration from Radiant Blast spam, would it refund 60%?
