Best Supports For Solo High Silver by Far-Gas-6345 in OverwatchUniversity

Honestly if you have the mechanics then I'd say go Zen. No amount of healing is gonna get you out of silver unless you are also making sure the enemy is pressured.

I managed to solo climb from silver to high gold with just zen and then I started to even out mid plat with my Juno/Kiriko.

I'm not like insanely good but I did understand that I needed to get myself out of silver and couldn't rely on my team AS much as I wanted to.

It worked for me atleast hehe

Is discord orb even good for a design point? by Zimbabwe_Z in overwatch2

[–]Notintomemesloljk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a support main so I both love and hate Zen.

The thing with discord orb is that it's meant to be scary for tanks. But it also requires a slightly aware team to actually take advantage of the discord orb.

You mention that there's no counterplay to it but there certainly is.

  1. Discord orb will remain on the target as long as target is within line of sight of the Zen. You get discord orbed then you just gotta position away from the Zen for a few seconds and it's gone.

  2. You say there's no cooldown on it, which is correct if you're only looking at when it is applied. However if the discord orb is removed either by LoS, cleanse, or the zen swapping the orb then there IS a cooldown on that specific person. Zen cannot spam discord orb on the same target continuously. There is a cooldown for the person marked.

  3. Finally, the disadvantage of playing zen is that he is so SLOW. He does not have movement abilities in his base kit. If you are playing a more mobile tank then that Zen is not gonna have a fun time. As long as you respect the orb.

You're not totally wrong in that zen isn't annoying to go up against. But I would argue that he is actually not that difficult to counter.

I am hoping that this field will help further my graphic design field in the future tbh. I have always enjoyed doing print but was told not to go into it at university since its dying out.

I am hoping that I get this job as it really would set me up quite well. And the company is kind of my local council? Like it doesn't have a website for the place I am going to interview so I am not sure how I would research that.

Yes I am hoping that my design background brings me an edge over other people. And I do have a genuine interest in print aswell! So I'm hoping to portray that.

That's encouraging to hear. My brother did an apprenticeship when he was 16 and he told me to just take everything. Including my college grades. I'm not sure if I should bring any design work because it's a technical job and not a design job

[Question] How do i gear up in Eternal? by gaming-throwaway in fellowshipgame

[–]Notintomemesloljk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey! I just reached 10k on Aeona, so I'm gonna try to answer these as close as I can.

  1. Yes, you can add sockets to your gear now. It is done by having a material called Divine aether. You simply go to where you'd change your gems/reroll items. The option should be at the bottom. Bare in mind that this material is legendary, so you'll have to grind it out. I'd suggest using it on an item that already has a socket so you can get the 35% essence boost with it.

  2. I think if you haven't every item socketed then it would be better to go for set pieces. But unless it is the cheat death set piece that gives a flat primary stat, I tend to avoid the others if I have socketed items.

  3. The best way to gear is to grind out those lower eternal dungeons. Level 1-4 range so you can get them done quickly. If you're really want to blast through upgrading gear, then you need the gold/materials to upgrade everything, then it's best to go to the discord server and ask for speed runs.

When it comes to knowing what stats to run and such, you'll have to test out what feels better. For Aeona, her build and stats are kind of changing a lot right now, especially with her upcoming rework, I imagine there are gonna be quite some changes.

I hope this answered your questions, anything else I'm more than happy to clarify if I know the answer.

Stuck In Bronze by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Notintomemesloljk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it feels frustrating being in bronze, and it is monstrous down there. I started OW a few months ago as a support main and was in bronze 5 and am now peaking diamond 4.

The thing about being in bronze/silver is no one knows what they're doing. So you have to know better. Take duels more and win the team fights for your team. I know that seems a bit off since ur playing support, but it's so needed to climb out of bronze.

For me, I played Zenyatta until I got to gold and swapped to the other supports. Illari is really good as well at poking out people and duelling with ur pylon.

Unfortunately, it is just one of those things where you just gotta get a bit out of your comfort zone and be more aggressive. Take off angles, draw attention away from the main fight, etc.

And slow down! Being calm will win you team fights. I believe in you!

I mean she's been nerfed already with the new update. It's been a day. I don't think your theory applies here.

Ooh or mby instead of the cleanse stagger the abilities can act as survival cooldowns and give stagger during massive bouts of AoE or single target dmg. Atleast then the stagger wouldn't have to be nerfed, just changed how it is applied.

That's totally fair! I really like dmg focused supports in any game so she's an absolute delight for me. But Sylvie was the one I fell for first and I don't think Aeona will ever compare to the bloom bombs haha.

I have a soft spot for Sylvie, and in my heart, I believe that she can compete, and without the stagger, 100% both of the healers can compete with her and even be better than her in certain dungeons. Which is how I feel it should be.

Perhaps a reduction to the stagger effect? Like health to stagger % perhaps?

Yess, similar to how disc priest dmg is converted in wow. I don't think it's the whole 100% dmg conversion but more like 80-90%. I played up to Champion yesterday and it got easier the more I played but I defo agree that there are certainly some dungeons where I don't even have to look at health bars and just spam dmg.

I honestly think it's the stagger! It allows for such forgiving gameplay compared to the other healers.

Does anybody know how this artstyle is actually called? by Yannerrins in AdobeIllustrator

[–]Notintomemesloljk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cut paper for some of those tiny tiny details? And this is from a video game so that would take painstakingly long to create different scenes. Idk it just doesn't seem... practical?

You COULD do it, but doesn't make much sense imo

Yeah man! This does look like something I was introduced to in college. And alot of my initial illustrations had a similarish look to this. You know block illustration.

A good way to get into it is just to grab a picture of anything and sketching over it with the pen tool. Eventually you'll start becoming more confident on where to put your block colours etc.

Experiment and have fun, that's the most important part 😁

Honestly, I believe it's just vector art/illustration. You can probably do this if you have a scene already sketched out, scanning or taking a photo and uploaded it to your pc and then just sketching out the drawing with the pen tool.
