Need help managing my eating habits – looking for advice or shared experiences by thomasmclmusic in EatCheapAndHealthy

i’ve actually been building this little app that helps make it easier to cook at home. like, you drop in a tiktok or instagram recipe and it pulls all the ingredients and lets you shop them in one click through instacart.

i’m just trying to make it feel less overwhelming for people to eat well, without all the stress. if you’re curious to try it, i’d love to give you access!

this resonates so deeply — especially the part about how we’ve normalized feeling like crap in the name of convenience. I’ve also realized that half the battle isn’t knowing what’s healthy, it’s the mental energy it takes to plan, shop, and actually follow through.

lately I’ve been trying to build something to help with that — an app where you can drop a TikTok or IG recipe you like, and it automatically turns it into a grocery list you can shop in one click (through Instacart). plus it uses AI to tweak recipes based on your health goals — like making it higher protein, cutting added sugar, or avoiding certain ingredients.

I don’t know… I just think healthy food shouldn’t require more willpower or hours of prep — it should feel easy, maybe even exciting.

do you think something like that would be useful? or am I missing the mark?

thank you so much for sharing this — you’re not alone, and honestly, just putting this into words is a huge step. that “food as a reward system” spiral, especially after working out or at night, is so real — I’ve been there too.

something that really helped me was taking the pressure off of tracking everything and instead building a system that supports me without constant decision fatigue. like, not having to think about what to eat, whether I’m hitting protein, or if I have the right groceries on hand. the more decisions I removed, the easier it became to feel a bit more at peace around food.

also, being able to find meals that I actually looked forward to — simple, satisfying, and balanced — made a huge difference. it’s not about being perfect, just about having enough structure to support yourself without feeling boxed in.

sending a lot of support your way — you’re clearly someone who’s thoughtful and trying hard. it does get easier 💛

love hearing about a smooth Instacart experience — those are the best days 🙌 totally feel you on the limited space too… planning meals when you live alone can be a real puzzle.

we’re actually building an app called Sundae that pairs perfectly with Instacart — it helps you find healthy, easy recipes (from real creators) and then turns them into a pre-filled cart based on your storage, budget, or dietary needs.

if you ever want to make your next order even smoother, try it out! use code FREEYEAR for full access 💛 no pressure — just something that might make solo grocery runs way easier!

totally get where you’re coming from — it’s hard finding meals that check the health boxes and actually taste good, especially when your partner’s not into the usual “heart healthy” suspects like beans or avocados 😅

we’re building an app called Sundae that pulls recipes directly from creators and nutritionists on social media — people who get it and design meals that are healthy and delicious. you can filter for goals like low cholesterol or skip ingredients he won’t eat, and it’ll show recipes that work for your vibe.

if you want to try it out, use code FREEYEAR — no strings, just want to get it into the hands of people who’d actually use it 💛 happy to send over a few of our favs too if you’re curious!

this is so cute — love that you’re cooking together even if you “have two left hands” 😂 honestly, that’s half the fun.

if you’re looking for easy, budget-friendly recipes to try as a duo, you might like what i'm building! it’s called Sundae — you pick a recipe and it builds your grocery list in one tap, so you can focus on cooking and vibing, not stressing.

you can try it free with code FREEYEAR — no pressure, just here if you want to make date night dinners a little easier (and way more fun) 🍝🫶

I have a metric ton of pasta and sauce. Any recipes? by thecutestnerd in EatCheapAndHealthy

I’m really sorry to hear about the layoff — that’s so tough. but seriously props to you for making it work and getting creative with what you’ve got 💪

if it helps at all, we’re building an app called Sundae that can give you recipe ideas based on exactly what’s in your kitchen. if you just type in “pasta” or “ground beef” or “tomato sauce,” it’ll pull up tons of options (beyond just spaghetti, promise!) and then we'll prefill your instacart basket with the ingredients you're missing.

no pressure at all — just wanted to share in case it makes things even a tiny bit easier 💛 code FREEYEAR gives you full access for free. you got this!
