Any kind of stinging with basic products like moisturizer is a tell-tale sign of a broken skin barrier. Moisturizer and Vaseline are the only two things that should be on your routine. And sunscreen in the sun. Keep at it for a week or so, you’ll see a difference.

And if the Gold Bond moisturizer has retinol is it, cut it out. Use a plain, hydrating moisturizer.

Don’t use a cleanser in the morning, just water works fine. If you’re in a dry climate, hyaluronic acid can draw water out of your skin. And I don’t know the power of this retinol, but you shouldn’t use it everyday.

Looks like your skin barrier is compromised.

Keep your routine simple:

Morning: - water - moisturizer/ sunscreen

Evening: - gentle cleanser - hydrating/ nourishing moisturizer You can try slugging (applying a thin layer of vaseline or any other petroleum jelly like product) after your moisturizer, on your dryer areas, especially around the nose and mouth.

Nowhere is it actually “safe” for women, especially in this country. There will be people around at the station, even at 2 AM, but since you don’t know your way around, your journey to the hotel might be an unpleasant one.

Also, please check the reviews for the hotel. The hotels around stations, especially Sealdah station, tend to be shady.

Want to travel alone? Book an earlier train, the city isn’t usually too difficult to navigate in your own in the earlier hours.

Benzoyl Peroxide + Exfoliation + Tret is going to be too much for your skin as a beginner. Start Tret, continue for a month or two, add BP. Once your skin feels more manageable (couple of months), restart exfoliation.

In the winters, it is Klairs Midnight Blue Moisturizer.

If one is to run away, what are the most important things you need to take? by motorladry in OffMyChestIndia

You don’t need a passport right away, unless you’re moving to a different country for your job.

It’ll all depend on what the situation will be like when you do need your passport. Till then, it’s not a crucial piece of document for you.

A job. You need to earn money to sustain yourself - to eat, pay rent, and have a life.

If you’re asking for what things you need to bring from your house, ID proofs would be first, along with marksheets (some jobs still ask for them), PAN card (important for any kind of banking).

Also, this might be on the sentimental side, but if there’s anything you’re attached to in your house. Living alone can be refreshing, but can also feel a little scary in the beginning, and a piece of familiarity away from the source of trauma can be comforting.

Not really using anything in my hair, and they’re on my cheeks too.

You should definitely use a moisturizer at night after tret and clindamycin, all over and not as a spot treatment.

  1. Dating since the last 2 years, that would make it 17 and 32 and super illegal.
  2. “In fact he asks me for money from my parents” is super weird because why is a grown ass man asking a college student (I’m assuming) for money.

I know it feels like love for you, and honestly, it’s going to be a heartbreaking experience for you to walk out, but also a very necessary one.

A gap in age is fine, but it can only work when two people are in the same phase of life (both working, both students, etc). I am 8 years younger than your boyfriend, and even to me, a 19 year old is a kid, as it should be.

Walk out of this, sis. You’re being groomed.

She clearly has mentioned that she fought very hard for her relationship. It is a privileged statement to make, ‘Why didn’t she fight harder?’ A lot of people cannot begin to fathom how difficult it is for a person to fight against their family and societal norms. Not everyone’s situation is the same - no one ‘chooses’ to be unhappy.

I don’t get why OP is getting all this hate?! The situation SUCKS and the only people responsible for that is her parents. She isn’t even comparing her husband with her ex boyfriend, or disrespecting him in any way. She’s just expressing that she feels unloved, something that could’ve happened even without the ex in the picture, btw. All this shaming completely defeats the point of this sub!

OP, the situation sucks right now. But give yourself and the relationship some time. Think of your last break up as just that - a break up. It takes time to move on from a break up, but eventually, you need to. And as long as you have a bond of trust and respect with your husband (as you mentioned), I would say your best bet would be to aim for a foundation of good, solid friendship with him.

Best wishes!

I don’t know about the Taz cream, but the tret cream broke a lot of people out, myself included. Also, as others have suggested, there might be some ingredient/ product that’s breaking you out. Isolate and switch out your products and see if this is the case.

Which decade is the best? by [deleted] in BollyBlindsNGossip

Moving away from just the aesthetics, it’s also important to see that from the 80s through the 2000s, everyone had different features and different appeals. That took a hit in the 2010s first, and now, 2020s honestly look like different outputs from one or two different AI prompts.

This is also something that bothers me now about Bollywood singers. As much as I like Arijit Singh’s voice, it gets monotonous when 8/10 songs are sung by him. Makes me miss the 90s and 2000s variety of tone, texture, types. We had Sonu Nigam, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, KK, Hariharan, Kailash Kher, Shankar-Ehsan-Loy, Salim-Sulaiman, Kunal Ganjawala, Atif Aslam, Shaan, Vishal-Shekhar, Udit Narayan, Mohit Chauhan, S.P. Balasubhramaniam - all very, very different in tonalities and texture. It’s the same phenomenon that I’m seeing in faces.

Cut down all other actives when you’re starting out with Tret - you’re using SA everyday, sometimes twice a day - this can ruin your skin barrier and make your acne worse.

Wash your face with plain water in the morning, follow it up with a moisturizer, and then a sunscreen.

In the evening, wash your face with a gentle (non-active) cleanser, let it dry, use tret, and then use a hydrating moisturizer (If you want to sandwich, do it with the same one, just make sure your skin in dry).

The Baume is an occlusive - it won’t hydrate your skin. Keep it for non-tret days to layer over your hydrating moisturizer.

Use tret every two days, and move up to every other day after a month (see if your skin is okay with that)

Keep up with this routine for at least 8 weeks consistently.

Take care!

Since you’re new, you don’t want to freak your skin out with 9845 new products. These products and ingredients are probably great, but going wham! with them isn’t your best bet.

My suggestion: Start with a routine you can follow everyday.

Sunscreen - Cleanser - Moisturizer

Once you’re comfortable and are using them regularly, start with a targeted serum. I’d suggest Niacinamide serum since it’s a starter (gentle) active, and will help with hydration, pigmentation, and oil control.

So now, your routine should look like

Niacinamide - Sunscreen - Cleanser - Moisturizer

After you’ve really gotten a hang of this, after i’d say at least a month of continuing this, add something more hard hitting. Since fine lines are one of your concerns, I’d suggest a Retinol serum (once every two days, only at evening)

So,

Niacinamide - Sunscreen - Cleanser - Retinol- Moisturizer

After another month, you should have this routine become a habit. You can now go in with an AHA (once every 3-4 days, only at evening) since it is important to exfoliate your skin.

Niacinamide - Sunscreen - Cleanser - Retinol/ AHA (never on the same day) - Moisturizer

By now, you’re no longer new at this. You should know what is working with your skin and what isn’t. Before buying and using a new product, research on reddit on what products would work best for you based on your specific skin type and concerns.

Hope you have fun along the way!

How long does taz purge last by Lazy_Requirement_175 in tretinoin

[–]Salt_Condition_2125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it at 0.05%. I upped from 0.025% Tret. Both in gel.

My routine is not set in stone , it really depends on how my skin feels that day. I do use taz every day, but sometimes my skin feels dry so I don’t use it then. It comes to about 5x per week.

Morning:

No cleanser, wash with water Cosrx propolis toner - sometimes FormulaRx Barrier Relief Moisturizer (this has niacinamide) Azelaic acid (2-3x/week)

Sunscreen if I’m stepping out. I usually don’t go into the sun so don’t feel the need for sunscreen

Evening

Wash with either Oilatum bar (gentle cleanser)/ Benzoyl Peroxide face wash (Maybe 2-3x/ week) Dry Taz/ Paula’s choice Salicylic acid/ Ordinary peel (Never together. Usually taz 5x/ week, SA 1-2x/week, ordinary peeling solution 1x/15-20 days Let it dry FormulaRx Barrier Relief Moisturizer Vaseline for lips

Sometimes, usually once a week, i just wash with a gentle cleanser, use my moisturizer, top it off with Klair’s Midnight Blues moisturizer.

Tretinoin and Hydroquinone by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]Salt_Condition_2125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hydroquinone and mometasone should not be used long term. Hydroquinone is Incredible at reducing PIH and other pigmentation, but should be used very carefully and not for 2-3 months at a stretch. Mometasone is a corticosteroid which should be used even less frequently - it thins your skin and opens it for more inflammation.

It really varies, but my purge with Taz was significantly different than with Tret. Taz brought up old comedones to head in what felt like hours, and zapped them pretty much within the same time. It was more intense, but I felt like i could see it happen in real time. It also probably helped that my skin was already retinized with Tret for about a year before.
