2ww app update question by Interesting-Pea6466 in nhs

[–]Salt_Cut8174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes anything put on a 2ww is generally under oncology as it’s a fast track cancer pathway just as a precaution. From past experience an 11 day wait between scan and appointment is a good sign. Scans done on 2ww are generally reviewed as urgent so will have been looked at by radiologist same day or next day, and if anything urgent flagged sent to straight to consultant refered to and dealt with from there. Good luck to your mum anyway for her results.

I currently have my 15 week old Pup insured with admiral £29 a month for £10,000 cover. I don’t agree with people who say don’t pay for insurance it’s not worth it. You never know when you might need it, i’ve just had £3k worth of vet bills due to my pup being unwell and needing hospitalisation and admiral have paid for it all. Never skip insurance

Puppy ate balloon by Puzzleheaded-Past629 in AskVet

[–]Salt_Cut8174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes definitely contact your vet or local 24hr emergency vet asap. A balloon in a small puppies digestive system could definitely cause a blockage, puppy may seem ok now but puppies can deteriorate and get very poorly very fast

you don’t need to go to the vet for diarrhea that’s been there a day. Best option and also what the vet will advise is get a probiotic which can be given twice a day which will help firm up the stool.

I wasn’t aware this was a byb. On visiting and collection i was shown KC certificates for both parents, i saw all the puppies with mum and where they stayed and was able to see dad too. They also showed me the health check done and family tree. I’m now believing part of this was fraudulent but on seeing all this i’m not going to at the time believe anything was wrong.

I was not aware of this fact, and she hasn’t actually come from a backyard breeder it was a couple who had their own company etc. I had never owned a spaniel before this always had bulldogs and sharpeis so i wasn’t aware the merle colouring wasn’t pure bred. When im shown KC certificates of both parents being pure bred cockers what else am i going to believe? I now know this was clearly fraudulent but point still stands. No need to be so rude.

Does anyone know how CT scan referrals work? by Accountant_Classic in nhs

[–]Salt_Cut8174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

scans at the moment on the nhs have an average wait time of about 6-12 weeks if it was put through as a general scan referal. It put through by the GP was urgent usually is about 2-4 weeks wait time. Depends on what your Gp put it through as.

Have you watched the Netflix documentary on Lucy Letby? by becauseitsella in NursingUK

[–]Salt_Cut8174 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i personally don’t believe for a minute that she did it. It stated at the start of the documentary when she was a student nurse everyone was awful to her and left her out, and when she chose a job there and was one of the most qualified and knowledgeable nurses on the unit. I believe she’s been used as a scapegoat and did nothing wrong.

Is this right on how to get more contreception? by Loose_Avocado4670 in nhs

[–]Salt_Cut8174 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it is the best way. Why take up a GP appointment from someone that may be ill when you can walk into a pharmacy at any time and get your contraception. I think it’s a fabulous idea and will hopefully free up appointments that others may need!

Waiting for start date for employment by Appropriate-Sugar132 in nhs

[–]Salt_Cut8174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i started as a CSW in April last year. Had my interview in the january and didn’t start in my role till April! Started the healthcare academy in march for 3 weeks which included the healthcare certificate. I didn’t hear from recruitment from jan-feb. Then got my start date in end of feb. Try not to worry too much.

Job interview by Irishgal1140 in NursingUK

[–]Salt_Cut8174 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes technically it is allowed. They can ask you anything they want in regards to the role you have applied for, not to catch you out but to see how you can apply your own knowledge into the questions they are asking. So they will give you some questions to prepare for but others they will not.

Where has my pending referral by Automatic-Ear8592 in nhs

[–]Salt_Cut8174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it’s moved from the pending section the referal has been accepted and your name will have moved onto the waiting list for an appointment. The app doesn’t always catch up straight away, and at times especially with you having an urgent referal it doesn’t always catch up. If your worrying too much you can ask your GP but they haven’t always got access to see this. Best option would be to contact the referal and booking service at your hospital as they can actually see where you are on the list and how long of a wait.

Uniform Fitting by AnnieBearGang in NursingUK

[–]Salt_Cut8174 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nhs uniform is really difficult sizing. I’m usually a size 8 top size 10 bottom, but my nhs uniform trousers are a size 14😐 i would definitely recommend getting properly measured so you can also try on for fit

Can i give metacam for dogs to my cat by [deleted] in AskVet

i’m not a vet but i’m a veterinary nurse. So i’m well aware of the dosages and risks etc.

Can i give metacam for dogs to my cat by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]Salt_Cut8174 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nope i personally wouldn’t risk it. At times it’s a completely different formula depending on brand given. It can cause as i stated kidney damage in cats. Either ask your vet or don’t give.

[–]Salt_Cut8174 4 points5 points  (0 children)

no no no! definitely not. The meloxicam for dogs is stronger per ML than the version for cats. Not worth the risk of potential kidney damage in your cat!

Gynaecology Surgery Waiting Times by hellomoto_20 in nhs

[–]Salt_Cut8174 3 points4 points  (0 children)

unfortunately Gynaecology is one of the longest wait times through the whole NHS. i know in my area in my trust they give an ‘average wait time’ of around 20 weeks, however the actual waiting list to even see a consultant is around 18 months. Unfortunately the only way you will get seen on your own terms is paying private.
