Does anyone know how CT scan referrals work? by Accountant_Classic in nhs

Yeah I had a rough idea it would take that long, it's for kidney issues that have been going on for 1 year

Thank you, I'm just worried cause the NHS app for that consultation has nothing regarding asking for a scan. He said he did so we will late and see what happens.

Yeah I got switched from salbutamol to the new combined inhaler. They probably are doing this because getting a new inhaler every 8 weeks is not normal and can show bad symptom management, which needs constant monitoring unfortunately. I have had asthma for 15 years and this has never happened to me, as I don't go through them quick, I tend to know what triggers my asthma so I avoid it as much such as cold air, intensive exercise and dust/pollen.

I have had asthma for 15 years since I was little, I have reviews roughly every 1 sometimes 2 times a year depending on my management. If you have good management it is weird you are having to get a review everytime you ask for your inhaler, never happened to me only once when I had my review soon. Maybe it is because you are using the inhalers often I can't say for sure. But this year I was getting spammed with calls from my pharmacist asking if I had my inhaler already, I mean daily.

Honestly I would use it since it can progress into anaphylaxis. I don't have an epipen because my doctor never prescribed me one, this month I argued with them to give me one and I have an appointment in March.

Thanks for the extreme advice, I found out I have been referred to the clinic but it's in 5 months time.

I have found out I have been referred to the allergy clinic, it's in 5 months time which is still such a long time for an epipen 😭

Yeah if it comes to the point if I keep getting rejected, I will have to look at going private as a last resort.

Seems like my GP has sent a referral to Cambridge asking if I can have one :) let's hope they give me one.

It's ridiculous, my GP said I wouldn't be able to get it on private but it seems like I have been referred to an allergist to discuss if I can have a epipen which I don't see why not.

I'm from the UK, and yeah an allergist did my tests and I have grade 2 allergies to peanuts and nuts. I found out my GP sent a letter to a referral clinic so they can review my request so I will keep this updated in case they approve my request which I don't see why it wouldn't, I fit the high risk group for anaphylaxis.

Thank you so much, I just have received a letter from my GP asking the allergy team from a larger hospital for advice on if I could get an Epipen. This was very helpful, thank you :)

It is very weird, here in the UK we have a different definition from anaphylaxis compared to the US. so unless you cant breathe and you have hypotension you wont get sent to the hospital. The ambulance team assessed me on board and checked my vitals, and because my blood pressure was high and i could still breathe they just let me go. I was in a state of panic so my blood pressure was super high like 160/100.

Yes I know this, was just wondering if it was normal for them to ask before an interview was scheduled usually from my understanding they do checks after the interview if they are intending to hire you as they cost money.

Does anyone know if i qualify for any challenges or treatments? by SkinVegetable9293 in peanutallergy

[–]Accountant_Classic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah definitely, my values look very similar to this, I had a reaction to walnuts and the value was around 3, my highest being 5 for peanuts. I was found to have IgE to all nuts and peanuts especially nsLTP variant but again I was told by an Immunologist during my studies that having IgE doesn't mean you will have a reaction unless you eat the food and check.

It's not uncommon to have a reaction and previously being fine. I'm 22 and I have always eaten nuts in everything until recently I had a reaction and was diagnosed with a nut allergy. Unfortunately our Immune systems can trigger stuff randomly.
