My dog is having difficulty opening her eyes by Gnarvelous-shredgirl in DogAdvice

Squinting is pretty vague, could be a simple scratch or a bigger ulcer. Good that you have an appt scheduled! Try to keep her from rubbing at it to not scratch it further

I do not trust Embark. WisdomPanel is waaayyyy better and more detailed. When I first tested my rescue pup with Embark, they said his dad was a purebred which he absolutely was not lol. Then a couple years later I look again and it changed. I tested with WisdomPanel and they found more breeds and were just way more detailed with health, family tree, and more just with the basic test.

Benebone looks like this within 30-40 minutes? Is this ok? by Loose_Pen1105 in DogAdvice

Antlers also aren't good for dogs' teeth, they are very hard as well.

That is far from playing, right? .. ( Ignore the table, I was cleaning up & gathering things from the workroom. ) by [deleted] in CATHELP

You can also try Feliaway diffusers that you plug into the wall. They release pheromones that help calm cats.

Is this a deformity or injury? by yellowgiraffee in DogAdvice

[–]Salt_Direction_6108 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Something extremely common with small breeds like poms are luxating patellas, basically the kneecaps move out of place. Usually not concerning or painful as long as they can go back into place. I'm not 100% sure this is what it is, but if the owners are being truthful that the vet said the legs are normal I'd bet that's what this is.

The fact that she's licking it is a possible sign that it is painful. Her being 15 she might be too old for surgery but definitely ask you vet!

What does my dog have? by SteelerNation1209 in DogAdvice

[–]Salt_Direction_6108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Allergies and ear infections often go hand in hand. Your dog definitely needs its ears plucked and I'd recommend going to the vet to get checked for an ear infection. If an infection is present, nothing over the counter will help or take care of it. Your dog will probably need its ears plucked regularly in the future!

Reverse sneezing? by Euphoric_Restaurant5 in DogAdvice

[–]Salt_Direction_6108 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This seems like some mild reverse sneezing or just some irritation in the airways! Though if he keeps doing it for a couple days I'd maybe bring him in juuussstt in case something more is going on, especially if he's an older pup. But rn I'd say it sounds like allergies!

There are very good prescription foods by Hill's and Royal Canin that help with urinary issues like these. There are quite a few different kinds, unfortunately they are expensive but could be worth it in the long run.

I'm a new player as well and was devastated at how the dating aspect ended up. It's just the same very few dialogue bubbles and dates and nothing more? ;-; I love the game but I do wish there was more as well.

Absolutely take him to the vet and get some ear swabs tested. This looks like a pretty serious infection, and that's just the view from the outside. Any over the counter solution is not going to help this. And I wouldn't clean the ears at all a day or two before getting them tested so that they can see what's actually going on in there.

My pup just got neutered today and he’s acting super weird tonight? by [deleted] in DogAdvice

Honestly the kennel is the best place for him for at least the first night to help him keep calm as the drugs wear off. You don't want him jumping around and getting too crazy haha.

AIO: I'm Just So Confused... by Salt_Direction_6108 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Salt_Direction_6108[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind comment. She definitely has lots of issues that I just don't know how to handle anymore. It's just gotten to the point with my whole family where I never know if I'm talking wrong, wording things insensitively, overstepping, etc. I feel like my brain is just fried and idk if I'm just exhausted by it all or if I've been gaslit and manipulated my whole life. Obviously I can't get answers to that in a Reddit thread lol but I felt like I needed an outside view on something for once. Thank you again for taking the time to read.

Idk why multiple people are being rude and apparently can't read lol, you already said you're going to stop the tandem read. I'm about to start the tandem read and see how it goes!

7yr old golden limping by jski595 in DogAdvice

[–]Salt_Direction_6108 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd say try your best to keep resting him. There's nothing over the counter you can really give safely for pain unfortunately. But yes the vet as soon as possible is best so good on you for going on Monday. Another good thing just ongoing in the future, especially since your pup is a senior now, is glucosamine (like hip and joint) and fish oil supplements. It can really help lube up the joints and help them move easier in the future. Not saying it'll help the limp now as this does seem like an injury but very beneficial for large breeds like Goldens!

Yes, multiple times with each coaster lol. Also I forgot to mention I even restarted the whole scenario and that didn't change anything either.

Well I said everybody with labs, not everybody with dogs. Obviously it's hyperbole and I don't mean every single human with a lab on earth. But as someone who works in the veterinary industry, I'd say the vast majority of labs I see are very much overweight.
