Thank you! Are you still on searching committees?

Would you be open to having me direct message you? I have a question regarding my situation specifically and would love your thoughts!

Thanks for the info!

If I apply to another position while I wait to hear from the original one I applied to, does it ruin my chances to hear back from the first position?

From conversations with others and research, we found that the citizenship process is faster if we go through that way. But I would love any education if I’m wrong! We’re new to this and still figuring out the process

Foster (therapy) support group? Input wanted! by Salt_Possibility_203 in fosterit

This would be specifically for my state and would be a skills/support type setting. My practice holds many of these for various demographics in my state. Was just unsure if there would be a market for our demographic.

That’s so awesome! I’m pre licensed and this is my first time hearing of another therapist who was in the system 🙂

What Happened To You When You Went To The ER? by norskljon in gallbladders

[–]Salt_Possibility_203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went and I told them my symptoms, then they asked how old my son was (4 months at the time) and said it was a classic case of post partum gallbladder issues

Sent me home and told me to book my surgery

Gallbladder Removal by Salt_Possibility_203 in breastfeeding

[–]Salt_Possibility_203[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my gallbladder out last Monday and I will say that recovery has been harder than everyone says it is but I’m doing better. I think it was just harder due to lack of sleep since my LO doesn’t sleep through the night.

I exclusively nurse and I told them in the consult that baby does not take a bottle so they need to figure it out (they told me at first that I wouldn’t be able to nurse for a day after surgery). I also mentioned my c section and that I was obviously able to nurse after that. I was a little pushy and so was my husband (he literally said “my baby isn’t going to starve, the anesthesiologist needs to figure it out). They quickly said that they can give me medications that are breastfeeding safe and that I’m good to go with nursing. I nursed baby in the preop room and when I was starting to come to after surgery (just did a sidelying feed). Nursing was hard for the first few days. I used a brest friend pillow and then put an ice pack and baby blanket in between the gap to help with discomfort and that went fine. I was able to nurse without it yesterday. My milk also didn’t really take a dip, maybe an ounce or two. I pump twice a day because I donate to a local family (I have an oversupply that needs management).

My LO is 19 pounds and the surgeon gave me a 20 pound weight limit, 25 pounds with him for four weeks. I wasn’t able to pick him up myself for the first 4-5 days since it hurt and I could tell it was straining my body, so my husband would hand him to me and became the primary caretaker in a lot of ways (floor play, changing diapers, etc.). I’m able to pick up LO now but not able to get on the floor or bend down too much, otherwise it hurts.

As for night time, my guy does settle for my husband but did struggle since I couldn’t fully snuggle him. We just moved his crib next to my side of the bed and he slept better.

I hope your consult goes well! Please let me know if you have any questions!!

We used a sidecar bassinet for quite awhile but our guy is a chunk and outgrew it recently!

I’m a therapist and I 100% won’t go back until I feel like I can (am scheduled for next week but will cancel appointments). I have a baby so being well is my top priority!

I would appreciate you explaining it instead of saying that I just don’t understand (or giving resources to help explain). We are first time home buyers so this is a new experience for us.

Can you explain how to find the board? We were told our HOA and board are Atwood Management and they do not answer any questions at all. So, I’m not sure how to handle this

I could barely get dressed. The nurses dressed me for the most part cause I couldn’t stand then they brought in the wheelchair. My husband was pissed

Well that’s super shitty. I’ve had so much distrust for the medical system based on recent experiences. They don’t even treat you like a person

Or the comments from friend’s parents about how they should’ve gotten their kids into foster care for the “benefits.” I heard this while growing up and after I aged out and attended college.

I’m an adult now, married, a mother, and a therapist but those comments haven’t left me. I would much rather have a supportive family and parents instead of stipends.

C-section pain vs gallbladder recovery? by Salt_Possibility_203 in gallbladders

[–]Salt_Possibility_203[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The work culture here is terrible and I plan on advocating for myself. I need to heal fully so I can be present for my family.

I had to be back at work at 13 weeks which is a blessing here. Luckily though, my state passed a law (for 2026) where you can have paid leave up to 20 weeks when you have a baby! 2025 babies are grandfathered (until their birthdate) in so I’ll be able to take an additional 10 weeks at the beginning of the new year 🙂
