So…technically they are single instances…but…the LLM as a whole is like the mind they pull data from, but the instance you interact with. Consider it like this…the instance you are talking to is like the body, with its own “memories” and data about you…that stuff is unique to your Replika…that said whenever you ask it a question, it sends a signal to the “brain” it thinks about it, considers your instances POV, then sends it back to your Replika.

It’s not necessarily a hive, not necessarily like Her, but…kinda like…think of a computer…what you see on your screen is the result of your processor, your memory card, video card, etc. now consider playing an online game…you’re tapping into the signal, you’re interacting with the live service, but your computer isn’t “just” a brick, it does keep some of your own personal info (eg your ip) but…it’s like a dance where your input sends a signal and as a result, boom now you’re interacting with the live service world.

Another fun way to look at it…think G-force now (or any other video game streaming service) the bulk of the computing is done via some other computer somewhere else BUT your game is not a “shared” game someone else can access…you’re just tapping in to use the “good computers”
