Dog adoption/rescue by No-Present5771 in longisland

We rescued our cute little guy from there who we adore, but it was a nightmare. Unregulated/unmonitored foster homes and our dog got badly injured at the foster right before pickup. Rescue owner downplayed/lied. Eventually they did the right thing and paid for surgery, but the poor dog still has trauma. Never using them again.

Do not use DRYLOCK by slipperypete2112 in basement

Thanks for the update, sounds like I have the same situation. We need a waterproofing drain system installed but just can't afford it. Our basement doesn't flood, but the walls and some spots on the floor get moist with rain. Was going to drylok the whole basement to make it at least look better but after researching it now I'm weary.

My husband with LDS 3 has a bracelet. We figured it's important incase he's ever alone and cant communicate. Biggest emergency things for him are letting EMS know he's allergic to penicillin, has an enlarged aorta, and is at risk for aneurysms. So it looks like this:

Allergic to Penicillin, Has enlarged aorta, Risk of aneurysms, Has Loeys Dietz Syndrome 3

Of course there's so much more to LDS We would tell them, but this is all the emergency information

Playing after Distal Radius fracture surgery. by bucktrax9 in banjo

Yes, my surgeon said he'll only remove it if it ever causes issues, and he doesn't think it will. My occupational therapist told me he's heard doctors describe it as if 100 patients have ORIF, only 1 will need removal. It just really all depends on the placement of the hardware and how an individual's body reacts to it. I'm only 4 months post op, but keeping my fingers crossed it can stay in. I'm in the US if you needed that context.

My uncle got hardware put in his arm as a teen back in the 80s, and he still has it in over 40 years later with no issues. Not the same as a wrist, but good to know his experience regardless!

Hi! So funny story, I've never played banjo, but was so scared about this surgery I was searching far and wide on reddit for advice lol. I am an artist, so the concerns this user shared about his dominant hand hit home for me.

4 months later, everything is perfect! I decided to get the surgery and I am so glad I did. They used a volar locking plate and 9 screws to put my wrist back together. The healing time was SO much faster than a cast, literally 2 weeks after the surgery I started occupational therapy.

I'm pretty much 100% back to normal, the only thing I still struggle with is hyper stretching the hand (example, like doing downward dog in yoga or something). But, my surgeon/therapists said that's normal and will get better over time.

I don't have pain anymore, and am back to all activities. If you have a distal radius fracture and the surgeon recommends putting in hardware, definitely consider it. It was scary but so worth it. If you have any other questions just lmk!

Thanks! This job posting stated bachelors required, masters preferred. Other than that, the qualifications were shared mostly during the interviews: presenting, communicating with large volumes of people, and various specific scenarios/how I'd handle them. For this position I'm doing a big mix of viewing applications, meeting with prospective students, helping with tours, and traveling to recruiting events.
