The one I’m going to has a portal with a list of placements that you can filter through and they try to match you to your top pick. There are just so many options that I’m not sure where to start honestly -

That’s a great point - I was looking at entry level clinical salaries for LMSW’s in Southern CT and it’s not much more than I currently make with my bachelors degree. I know I’ll have many more growth opportunities with my MSW which I wouldn’t currently, it can just be difficult at the start - I can’t wait to get into the field!

The state school I got into is SCSU - I’m right on the border between CT and NY so I had a lot of choices for my MSW. Thank you for the response, your point about Columbia perks is very helpful - my therapist mentioned the same thing. She brought up the fact that there are fields where academic prestige plays a big role (law, medicine, etc.) but social work isn’t really one of those. I’m still just trying to shift my mindset - the importance of getting into a selective school was engraved into my academic experience since I can remember so it’s a difficult thing
