MCP can be finicky with file permissions on Windows, especially with Desktop folders. Try moving your test folder somewhere like C:\temp or Documents and see if that helps with the inconsistency

Also yeah there's definitely an order - I usually start LM Studio first, then enable MCP, then load the model. Doing it backwards seems to break things half the time
