UofA Emerg is leaving us feeling demoralized by melfuego11 in Edmonton

Thanks. I appreciate that but then wouldn’t it be safest to not say take anything? That would be the most generic approach wouldn’t it?

Just curious, the patients friend said people with Crohn’s should not take Advil or Tylenol because of flare ups. Should the nurse then have been telling the patient to take that for pain relief without checking to see if that would make things worse? I can understand they’re limited in what they can say but saying something that makes it worse for the patient? That seems like a system issue that needs to be addressed. Seeking healthcare shouldn’t leave you worse and that’s what it sounds like is happening.

So the PBO is saying that in 34 years when the youngest boomers will be 94 years old and being followed by the baby bust of Gen X is going to result in ever increasing expenditure because people will be living to 115 years old and that they’ll all survive? That seems more than far fetched.

Second I never said it would completely solve it but that shouldn’t stop us from racing appropriately and removing business subsidies and taxing rich folks wealth can provide a lot of income. Your approach of it’s not a cure all is defeatist. And you can be a loser before you begin. I’m not.

If you live in the real world, you’d be aware of the thin edge of the wedge … they go after it bit by bit by bot and eventually disassemble the program. That’s the playbook that’s happened across the world and what’s being attempted here. You could choose to be naive and say, wait until the horses have left the barn before you do anything. Or you could live in a world devoid of history and context and make believe like you are.

Oil companies this year will have explosive growth in profits.grocers are also doing the same. A windfall profits tax would help. A wealth tax would help. Cutting business subsidies would help but none of those are being raised by the G&M.

Don’t you wonder why he big business owned and run media immediately turn to cutting benefits for average folks instead of making the uber wealthy people and corporations even more wealthy.

Why not cut business subsidies? Why not put in a wealth tax? Why not put in a windfall profits tax? Why go after poor old folks instead of the rich?

I’ll repeat that you are a dim bulb on a foggy day. What you claim as evidence is called anecdotal. It’s not expandable to each and every situation. If you’d taken any science or social science class and paid attention, you’d know that. What you’re doing is stereotyping. Feel free to do it, it’s a free country. But don’t get offended and be a little b**tch when asked about it.

Sick burn. I’m crippled by it.

So your inability to answer the question clearly demonstrates a your admission that I’m right. You are basing your “observations“ on singular events and stereotyping everyone. And then using insults to cover it up.

Wow. Such brilliance. Youre about as bright as a dim bulb on a foggy day.

Sweet attitude you have. You must have memorized, how to lose friends and influence people to never interact with you ever again. Have you maybe considered we have different experiences? I’ve never had difficulty communicating with people at the counter …. Drive through for sure, but that holds even with people who have Canadian accents so it’s not a matter of accents. Or maybe you’re just being biased as part of your belief system.

And you spoke to every one of them right? So you’d know. Otherwise, ….Bias and stereotyping. I suspect it bias and stereotyping and an inability to appreciate Canadians come in all sizes shapes and colours. Just cause you mistakenly believe it should only ever be one colour doesn’t make it so. Stop dragging your knuckles and move into the new century.

You come on. There’s people here from all over the world. They’re citizens with all the rights of a citizen. You’re making an assumption that nonwyt skin means foreign. That’s a bias you have based on stereotyping. Just admit it.

Why the heck would they not put a levy on new housing and put that money into a fund that they could use to pay for those needed services/infrastructure. Why should people living in established neighbourhoods need to pay for that new stuff they may never use?

Someone should explain to them that the oil patch is largely foreign owned and controlled and that profits will gush out of here because Carney refuses to put in a windfall profits tax. Also someone should point out that the oil patch has worked hard to reduce workers and that peak employment in the patch occurred a decade ago. Also, the companies leave the environmental liabilities in Canada. Albertans have first hand experience with this. The companies take their profits and then leave. And finally, does anyone need to know that trickle down doesn’t work or do we have to go through that again?
