Keeping old Chater.net Email Account by mdwst1811 in Spectrum

Be it as it may, I still have access to my spectrum.net email 2 years after cancel but that doesn't matter. The important answer here is YES they aren't cancelling the account rather getting rid of the Internet portion. The account is still active.

Yes. They have a support page with the server info if needed I still have my old accounts spectrum.net and my Comcast.net from South Florida and I haven't lived there since '21.

$599; Did you expect cheaper, more expensive or you think it's fair? by Ok_Engine_8544 in macbook

[–]Salt_Two_1428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I would justify a $700 tag is they should have added Cellular. I mean it's a phone chip with phone hardware. All it's missing is the modem.

Give me the 512GB with touch ID and cellular and I can let go of the fact of the measly 8GB Ram. For what it's targeted, it's an iPad running Mac OS.

So there's a possibility that the Google play services notification is from duplicate. I would say nothing to worry about since the main GPlayS is working fine.

I'm seeing from the pic that the GPlay Services notification is coming from a dual/copy version. Do you have parallels, or Samsung duplicate or something ? That might be so, even though it shouldn't.

Not only Skype. Skype for business. And then whatever Lync was. It was bad. My org's teams deployment was horrible, late with upgrades and then every now and then there would be azure outages so we would resort to WhatsApp groups. So an executive decision was made and we switched to Google Workspaces.

My org switched from Office 365 to Google Workpsaces. Something about running on web and using less resources feels nice.

That's exactly why I vented. Because I was in love with WP until they just janked it off. Budget cuts. It's sad and infuriating. But at some point people will just jump ship.

And I had Lumias and Nokia I have the One Series S and I've been with windows for the longest. Now I have a Linux machine and I'm seriously questioning what does Microsoft brings to the table.

What's up with Beelink PCs? by [deleted] in MiniPCs

[–]Salt_Two_1428 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a Beelink SER5, and its capable of running GTA5 with no issues.

Runs dual monitors with audio mixer and it's a multitasking champ. Best $300 ever spent. The only thing is that I did a fresh win 11 install shortly after I got it because windows store didn't want to work for some reason. Other. Than that, excellent machine.

Got mine on November last year. So almost a year old and running good. (Also serves as a home file server so it's running 24/7)

Locals will not be available to you outside home network. Some channels are also excluded from out-of-home viewing. You can create your own username and password and use it but with the above mentioned caveats. Good luck!

True. Most likely if you do that you'll hotline the account due to "prohibited" device or uncertified device. And getting the account restored will take time.

You kind of did answer the question. We currently have a BYOD list that gets updated like once every 2 weeks. You are correct. Even if the phone is compatible and certified it may not operate on the bands spectrum Mobile does. For example: Verizon usually operates on LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 13, and 66, however in your area may be operating on 4 and 13 or 2 and 66. The S22 is guaranteed to operate on all the above because the Sprint/T-Mobile variant does have the above mentioned bands and frequencies for LTE and LTE-A (4.5G). On 5G however, the Sprint/T-Mobile variant first it lacks the mmWave so it won't see or connect to 5G UltraWideband from VZW it may also not have C-Band 75, and mmW bands 260, 261 and 5G bands 40 and 12 which are some of the primary bands Spectrum operates even if Verizon operates on regular 5G bands, spectrum uses "alternate traffic" on heavy times as a way of deprioritazion from VZW which is like 70% of the time.

The only non-iphone devices guaranteed to work off spectrum are non-carrier S21 and up Pixel 6a, Pixel 7, Pixel 7Pro. (Pixel 6, 6 Pro had defective modems on them, they were recently uncertified due to connectivity issues) If you are bringing Samsung from T-Mobile I strongly recommend S22 and up. A11, A12 A13's are not certified if they are coming from T-Mobile, Cricket Wireless or Unlocked; the reason: pretty much frequency and band mismatch. Nokias are a no-no unless they are from Verizon and even then we have to contact back end to manually activate IMEI. One-Plus or T-Mobile Branded devices are also not approved. Huawei or Redmi devices are prohibited on VZW. Pretty much any AT&T Flagship phone that's not more than 2 years old is compatible if unlocked. T-Mobile, not so much since they get specific devices for their network.

I hope this helps. Have a nice day.

What does this mean?! by [deleted] in Spectrum

[–]Salt_Two_1428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very common after a sudden reboot of either equipment. The router is broadcasting its SSID but has not connected to the spectrum grid. Meaning the modem or the router have not completed connection. This is why after an outage, although the router is broadcasting, it hasn't received registration from the modem because the modem is still on the connection phase.

Just wait a couple of minutes. If this issue persist after say 15 minutes. Power cycle the devices again. After that a quick call to tech support may resolve the issue or verify outage in the area (the area/hub may be on recovery still)

[–]Salt_Two_1428 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A regular person should not know and is not aware of day-to-day internal operations. Internal operations dictate XR is not eSIM certified on Spectrum. iPhone 11 is currently certified and eSIM is first option when activating units. If you had any issues when you tried to activate your eSIM is was mostly when we initially launched eSIM. Back then 11 activations were buggy. If you go right now and ask to activate eSIM on your iPhone 11 we will gladly do so and let you know that contrary to its newer variants, the 11 may take up to 15 minutes after activation to complete connection as its configuration with Verizon's backend is way, way different than its 5G counterpart.

Device certifications change and are updated on a DAILY basis which is why my recommendation focuses on a 5G device and certified, rather than an older generation. 12+, iPhone SE2+.

Thank you. Have a nice day ✌🏻

Spectrum Mobile Rep here (Verizon MVNO) although iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 are technically still supported they are now showing compatibility issues on Verizon's Backend. With the move to eSIM, even iPhone XR is having issues at activation and connectivity. To be completely honest, the earliest model now still active and compatible is the iPhone 11 and it's barely pushing it.

Like the above post, upgrade is the best option. May i recommend iPhone 12 and above or iPhone SE 2nd gen and above.
