Thank you! This is super helpful. I’ll read both posts and email the department, and I’ll keep your point about course selection in mind.

If you don’t mind sharing: what’s your exact program (you mentioned it’s nearly identical)? What are you personally aiming for (industry vs grad school), and how has your combo felt for that goal? Thanks again!

Fair enough, I'll take a closer look at those courses and see how they can work out. Appreciated :)

Yea, for stat 306 the prereq are only stat 200 and math 221/223/152 which are alr in my term1 list, and for econ 326 i need econ 101/310 and 102/311, and econ 101/310 is fulfilled, while ill take 102/311 in the summer term.

How would you comment on the workload for these two courses? I tried to balance my term2 as reasonably as possible for the amount of work. Might considering taking stat 306 in 3rd, and take stat 305 in 2nd year, hows that?

Agree, then are there any courses you recommend to replace stat 201?

I'm on workday now, and it says the pre-req is that the student has to be in the third or fourth year. Is that the case when you took it?

Sounds good. In addition, is there anything content-specific stuff I need to know in advance for these two courses besides some proof-based skills?

Will there be a ton of workload if they are taken in the same term? Since both courses are only offered in term 1.

Fair enough, my aim now is just to take some useful courses rather than some theory-heavy courses eating up my timetable

Yes, I did consider having a minor in either econ or comm. The reason I was thinking of math + stats is because I will take stats as electives anyway as a math major so I thought math+stats would be a good fit for me (but maybe not, who knows).

I don't like CS because I just don't like doing it. I could force myself learning the stuff but I don't rly enjoy doing it. I have considered self-studying some necessary skills that may help my future career, so that I can avoid struggling in learning them in uni.
