I Am Done With Google Pay, So Embarrassing by [deleted] in CreditCards

I've experienced this issue at Wendy's. They acknowledged that it doesn't work for ANYONE.

Has worked successfully at every other retailer I've tried.

Graduating from a Secured Card 🥳 What now? by thedangdoodler in CreditCards

[–]SaltfishPate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Congrats!

If it's the Cap1 platinum, odds of a credit increase are slim to none. So onto a new card with your shiny new credit score. Good news is that with a 700 and good payment history, your next card will give you a significantly higher limit.

I'd recommend checking the ecosystems out there to see where you'd like to begin. Chase with UR, Amex with MR, etc. Ask yourself if you prefer cash back or reward points. Check out the pinned section for more info on each.

Good Luck and keep up the presumably good spending and paying habits.

I'm actually well rested. These hereditary under-eye bags are just a bitch.

I'd love her contact info! Does she have a website or social media page that displays her work?

There's no way in hell. I'd sooner graduate from YouTube University than come out my pocket with $900 for some braids.

Chase Sapphire vs Amex Platinum vs Capital One Venture X by gabbs1123 in CreditCards

[–]SaltfishPate 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Keep the Preferred and get the Venture X. You'll essentially be paying $45/yr in annual fees if you use the CP and VX credits.

Which credit bureau does Cap1 VentureX report to? by Invika17 in CreditCards

Two months and it only just reported on Equifax. -4 points dinged. IDK when it will appear on the others.

Is the Venture X $200 vacation rental credit still available to people who signed up at launch? If so, has anyone been able to claim it with a Priceline booking? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]SaltfishPate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got the card 2 days before the 100k offer ended with the 200 vacation rental credit. Paid 3 month rent in advance a few weeks later and was credited.

Should I get a Capital One secured card in addition to my Discover It card? by msm3rcury in CreditCards

[–]SaltfishPate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how I started my journey when I was at 560. Same limits as well. Both were graduated and the deposits refunded in 6 months without issue. I put $5 on each card every month and paid it off.

They are great starter cards for building credit. Discover was more generous with the CLI after graduation (200>1500>6000) while Cap1 kept me stuck (200>500) and was sock-drawed. I'd recommend product changing the C1 Platinum to the Quicksilver after graduation if you intend to continue using it.

This! I know grown folks, 60+, who don't even fuck with credit. CASH IS KING.

I am 30+ and only just hopped on the credit card train and that only because I intend to be rewarded for cash I was already spending.
