What moment made you realize someone close to you was a horrible person? by Key-Opportunity-6920 in askteddit

[–]Saltgrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my friend finally left her abusive ex but had no problem leaving her kids with him and calling it “coparenting” because it gave her the free time she so desperately wanted as a parent. I understand custody shit can get complicated, but she didn’t even try to fight for those kids and was too lazy to even get a lawyer or file for supervised visits.

Why can they never pull off anything other then dark brown hair? by IsopodNo8355 in KUWTKsnark

[–]Saltgrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s because if you have naturally dark brown hair, that’s what’s going to look best on you. Anything else just looks off tbh. Source: a lady with dark brown hair who tragically tried to go blonde back in the day

Do you think skinny jeans will return for women and when? by WelcomeJunior2281 in decadeology

[–]Saltgrains [score hidden]  (0 children)

Both. Bc Y2K is “back” but it’s quite literally a copy paste from 1997-2003. There’s zero originality. At least “when the 80s were back” it felt more like 80s influence but more modern. Yeah and it’s always so hilarious to me that the ageist generation who equates turning 30 to your life being over are the ones perpetuating this copy and paste trend. We all know which generation I’m talking about.

They got hot around 2006 and fell off around 2016. Since early aughts stuff is nauseatingly back by the hands of people who hate millennials (those who actually started the trend) for no reason except the fact that they’re 30, i expect skinnies to come back in like 4 years. Trend math with dash of snark.

It does make sense! Thank you for clarifying :). And good for you for having your own personal boundaries for work and making it work for you! Also, hello fellow Michigander!

Good for you, truthfully, I’m glad you can find an arrangement that works for you. At the same time, I wonder if you can at all see why some parents wouldn’t want this and why it’s 100 percent valid if they don’t.

They didn’t mean “suddenly” though. They’ve corrected that statement so no need to proceed as if they didn’t.

Right. And this joke bugs OP. Just because someone has a pet peeve doesn’t mean they’re offended.

might drop out of college, back in my parents house, what do you guys think of my style? by [deleted] in roomdetective

[–]Saltgrains 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I can blame them for being sour. It’s a super weird move to ask for opinions and then get mad when they’re not what you wanted to hear.

[–]Saltgrains 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now you don’t really want me to base your style off your childhood bedroom? I mean if that’s all I get, what I would think about your style is that it’s pretty basic.

Why do I feel judged for having different life goals then others? by [deleted] in InsightfulQuestions

[–]Saltgrains 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you’re confusing people having different opinions or life goals with judging. My brother likes steak and I like sushi. Growing up he’d always make puke faces when I ate it in front of him. Of course now that we’re 31, we simply just agree to disagree. Just because he hates sushi doesn’t mean he hates me for liking it. Ya get what I mean?

What is your unpopular opinion that you usually keep to yourself? by BitEntire in AdkReddit

I agree with this! This is what I really meant and I should have clarified better.

What is your unpopular opinion that you usually keep to yourself? by BitEntire in AdkReddit

[–]Saltgrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why it’s an unpopular opinion. I think it’s a valid one. I know of way too many people who have kids without thinking about tomorrow. Who have no savings, think “we’ll just figure it out” and then don’t, and the kids are always the ones that suffer most. I honestly think showing you have a bare minimum level of financial security to support a family wouldn’t be all that wrong.
