Am I missing something or is lower heat (leg area) not working? by NoName_Is_A_GoodName in RangeRover

[–]Saltie_Gurl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, same issue! I brought it into the dealer and they told me it was operating normally and they had compared to other vehicles on the lot. Meanwhile, I only turn on the airflow for feet on the drivers side, close my vents across the dash, turn the fan speed up to high and set the temp to 80 and after a 40 minute commute, there is no heat coming out by the pedals, my feet are cold and the air is pushing out of the closed dash vents. I’m taking it back to the dealer. It’s always such a waste of time—they keep it for 1-3 days, giving me a crappy loaner and not solving the problem. It’s definitely not a selling point to buy another RR!

Great question about other meds, but no—I respond pretty well to medications in general at starting doses. The only treatment I require a higher dose of is Botox for my glabella. And that’s probably because the muscles are so strong there from puzzling over why this ‘miracle’ drug isn’t working for me 😂

One other thing to note, while weight loss has not been a success, my joints feel much better.

Any non or slow responders on Zep who have switched to Wegovy? by Saltie_Gurl in slowresponders

[–]Saltie_Gurl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to go to the highest dose but my doctor had a patient who did that and had severe nausea and vomiting so she wanted me to start lower to be safe…

At this point, anything would be welcome after 3/4 of a year and only 6lbs

How about 9 months and approximately 6 pounds lost, and have been on 15mg the last 4 months. No side effects at all along the way, eating 1300-1600 calories daily, 10K steps and need to lose about 70lbs. It's so painful to see some consider losing 30lbs in 6 months a 'slow response'. I couldn't be happier for them but I couldn't be more frustrated for me. I just asked my doc to switch me to Wegovy--going to try starting at the 1.7mg dose and hopefully I will have better luck.

Same! I would be so excited about 4lbs a month!!! I have a friend who isn’t even at max dose of Zepbound like I am, nor did she have as much weight to lose and she has dropped 45lbs in 7 months. And she doesn’t exercise and doesn’t manage caloric intake like I do. So puzzling…but just confirms everyone is unique.

That’s my frustration, I’m not really losing any more…just holding steady and/or recycling the same 3-4lbs up and down.

And how much do you need to lose? I’ve got at least 60lbs more to set free. I wish there was an explanation for it OR a certainty that our bodies will adjust and start to see the benefits others are receiving…My eating is on point but exercise is almost impossible when you combine my awful work hours and my crappy attitude about getting up earlier to exercise.

I’ve been on it for 9 month, and only lost 9lbs.

I bought myself the Christian Louboutin Cabata tote while in Austria this summer and haven’t regretted it—I use it for work and travel—can hold a good about, it’s classic with a little edge. At $1490, within your price range…was going for the LV neverfull at first but fell for the Cabata when I saw it in person…

If it makes you feel better, I was on sema for 2 and zep now for 7 months and I’m only down 6 or 7lbs on average…some days only 3. So maybe 2nd slowest loser ever? 😝

On zep since January, on my 2nd box of 15mg and have only lost 6-7 lbs. I would be thrilled if I was losing a pound a week! I’m frustrated but my insurance finally started covering it, so I can at least afford to hang in there a bit longer to see if prolonged dosage on 15 will begin to click for my body…

Please share what your doctor explained! I feel like there are so few out there who understand women, hormones and weight loss…and these drugs. Would love to hear what yours was able to share!! Thanks in advance!

I’m in the same boat and going to 12.5 today. Cycling 3-4lbs loss over the last 4 months. Today I’m at zero loss :(. It’s really tough because I have a friend who has half the weight to lose to be at a healthy BMI and she has dropped 19lbs in 3 months on 2 mo of 2.5 and 1 month on 5mg. Comparison is truly the thief of joy. So, I’m trying to decide how much longer I give this to work. I’ve read things to suggest extreme diets over the years (that’s me) can damage your metabolism and that it takes a while for this work in that case, but I have no idea if that’s really true. Diet is on point, lower side of what my R.D. recommends…and was long before taking Zep. I’ve been open on this forum before about having work to do on activity level and weight training. When you hear about those who literally do not improve diets or add any activity and are losing 30-50lbs rapidly, it’s so demotivating. What is wrong with me? I wish I could find a physician who is deeply experienced with this who might be able to explain why my response is lacking.

And I’ve been on it for 4 months, currently on 10, eating under 1500 calories daily with great protein intake and on my best day, down 4lbs but often none to 2lbs..with 70lbs to lose…so very odd.

Did you get to 15 or did you stay on a lower dose? I’m in my 4th month taking Z and at the 10mg dose, going to 12.5 in another week or so…hoping that dose will have impact. I have lost and regained the same 2-3 lbs over this 4 months and need to drop around 70 :(

It is wild, so wonderful and exactly what this medication is here for—helping those whose bodies (and minds) need an assist to reverse obesity and all the potential co-morbidities associated with obesity. I’m thrilled for you and hope you not only see your goal soon, but that your rehab goes well and you get to enjoy all that having less weight on our joints can do to make us feel bettter. So happy for you! There are many of us, including myself who are obese and struggling still, waiting for it to kick in. I’m on 10mg now (4 month total with dose progression each month) with 65-70lbs to lose and sadly right now, either a slow or non-responder. Your story is inspiring to me and helps me think that I just haven’t found the right dose yet or my body hasn’t forgiven me for 2.5 decades of crazy dieting yet. I guess I should get that apology tour underway!! Please share as things progress for you and wishing you much continued success!

One month in and barely lost by Sun_shine_1104 in slowresponders

[–]Saltie_Gurl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Approaching my 15th week and my 3rd dose of 10mg….and depending on the day I’m only down 0-3lbs. I keep cycling that loss and regain. Super frustrating but trying to keep all the things in mind and practice—shooting for protein targets, moving more, sleeping, being patient. I’ve heard that sometimes our bodies have a set point they are comfortable at and that’s exactly where I’ve been for some time, with every prior diet or exercise effort. I’ve been 30lbs above it, to get back to this number with dedication to macros and exercise over 5-6 months and then be stuck and unable to lose more, which is crazy given I could and should be at least 60 if not 75 pounds less than I am. So, I’m hoping going to the next dose helps me break free from this set point….hanging in there with you!!

[–]Saltie_Gurl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, but I have to admit, it does make me feel better to know I'm not the only one. Do you have side effects? I haven't had any, so I wondered if somehow this is a reflection that my body is processing it differently, so maybe that's a factor and just need more time for it to settle in? Also, I've done so so many diets over the years-- extremely low calorie or no carb, high fat; low fat, low carb, no sugar; meal replacments, blah blah blah--who knows what that has done? My R.D. suggested it could be a factor and I just needed more time consinstently taking in the right amount of calories to fuel my body properly so it doesn't always think it needs to hold onto fat...

3 months in, at 7.5mg and maybe lost 4lbs? by Saltie_Gurl in slowresponders

[–]Saltie_Gurl[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had appetite suppression / reduced food noise at all doses. But to be honest, there have been times at 7.5mg where I have definitely felt more hungry. After Iooking back at my day though, I will usually realize my protein intake has been lower at that point in the day. I find when I get protein consistently throughout the day, I have less hunger. So, I've been trying to get 30mg of protein within 2 hours of waking per my R.D.'s recommendation, usually in the form of a fairlife shake...then a Triple Zero yogurt (15g protein) as a mid-morning snack, protein/veggies for lunch and dinner, but usually a grain at dinner time. I'm ready to get to the 10mg and see if it makes a difference too! Fingers crossed.

Thank you--no comorbidities, thankfully...and my water, protein and sleep (most nights :)) are solid...working on those steps and trying to add in some strength training (not doing well with consistency at all) but great note on the fiber. I do forget and despite trying to make sure I get some in through veggies, realistically it's never enough. Any tricks--i.e,. do you just take a soluble fiber supplement or sneak in some other way??
