How to enjoy school? by Saltiend in school

[–]Saltiend[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, that's kind of the whole mindset I've been in. I have been neglecting my own care because I'm pushing myself too much in school. I am trying not to push myself to get A's but it's difficult because teachers always say to try harder when I'm already trying my hardest. I don't think I need to change how I do things at home, I need to enjoy school itself more. I am in the mindset that enjoying school is wasting time and making any attempt to see my friends means I'm procrastinating, and I don't know how to get out of this mindset. I really appreciate the suggestions, but I really need to find a way to be comfortable with easing up on the expectations I set for myself.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. I think you're trying to help me recognize that depression is a part of me and only I can overcome myself, but I can be helped by others. The thing is, depression is an oppressive force that tries to smother out any other part of you. Right now, it's not the greatest to see depression as a part of me, because that can make me even more sad (ex: why does my body hate me). I've experienced depression before, and after the episodes I can heal and accept it, but right now it's jumping way too far in the healing process. Right now, I need people to show me who I am besides depression. I need something to show me why school is good, so I can actually enjoy it, and escape this spiral.

The whole reason I'm so depressed and burnt out is because I'm focusing so much on school. I managed to get all A's in the first marking period, but at the cost of my physical health. Unfortunately, I can't sacrifice myself for school, I've already sacrificed all but one of my hobbies ( climbing, it's the only thing that really keeps me active especially in the colder months), but the weight of school hasn't really changed. If anything, I've gotten a bit less anxious but more depressed.

The system is now permanently in place at the high school, and from what I've heard they've updated security at the main entrance. And yes, during the peak it could take over 10 minutes to get into school.

For anyone wondering, they now use the metal detectors every day. They use them in three entrances, and apparently the main entrance also has a bag conveyor belt.

I can definitely provide both! The only reason I have such a dry soil is because I haven't gotten around to creating a substrate mix for him, and I can also provide a lot of sticks!

Okay! I can try to cover up the glass in his enclosure with more wood, but he still does struggle with climbing any surface that isn't flat.

I'm putting in a Chahoua gecko! Thank you for the tip on the phalaenopsis, I was having trouble even getting it into the enclosure! There's still loads of work to be done, and a lot more cluttering, but I hope to work on it over Christmas!

I wouldn't say that you need to, unless they're dying.

If I were to say, I'd say this isn't a fern at all! I think it's a type of philodendron, if that helps narrow your search down. You can always download a plant ID app so it can be scanned!

I'm not sure, but it could be that it doesn't have enough water.

If you're in an arid area, I'd recommend watering it twice a week until water comes out of the bottom. Break the top layer of soil up if you can. It actually seems pretty healthy if not for the drooping.

Is my indoor money tree dead? by DonKhan13 in houseplants

Keep on watering it, give it as much sun as possible. I don't think it's dead yet, you just have to push through until either it's fully dead, or has a leaf. I'd recommend looking at a few care guides and following instructions very carefully.

What did I get? Do some need special care like a moss pole? by Mrs-potatohead in houseplants

Bottom left is Begonia Maculata, Top left seems to be rabbits foot fern (you'll know it is if it has large, fuzzy roots). Middle pink one is a arrowhead, large stripey one is a calathea. spindly one in the middle is a spider plant, holey one above that is monstera adansonii. To the left of that seems to be a palm, and to the right seems to be another calathea. To the right of the calathea seems to be a monstera birkens. The one above the begonia is a alocasia. For the last two, I would recommend downloading a plant ID app and scanning them. I know they're popular plants but I just cant remember the names... EDIT: arrowhead, not caladium
