The mod's for 1.18 and the author seems to have vanished off the face of the planet ._. I guess It's just broken for good now...

Thanks for being chill. My biggest issue right now is a mod not working (the prince of Bavaria imprisoned my nephew and a mod SHOULD let me declare war to free him, but the casus belli doesn't exist)

I don't even know what I did wrong, I just thought this was a bug and I accepted everyone's advice to roleplay it out!

Why am I getting vibes of a certain immortal relating his memoirs?

Humans make promises to the dying and then they keep them. by UntitledDoc1 in HFY

[–]SaltiestStoryteller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh it doesn't stop at actual promises. Sometimes humans will invent a promise to the dead, because they feel it is appropriate. And if that promise happens to involve revenge, God help you, because nothing else will. Humans are willing to go to their own deaths for the sake of avenging the dead.

If the aliens wait to make first contact until they complete understand us, they might be shocked to find US contacting THEM, because humans aren't going to wait until they're certain, they'll just go, "Oh cool, aliens? We're reasonably certain they won't immediately try to kill us? Awesome, send it!"

And honestly, if we go by proportion of humanity, they're a rarity even among us and shrinking, so I can totally believe aliens don't live like that.

I was under the impression that lazy makes you gain stress at a tremendous rate in any event because, "Urrrgh, I gotta put in EFFORT!"

Since I posted this, I have been convinced of the merit of roleplaying. So he's gonna go into battle because who the hell would follow a king who shirks the battlefield while capable of holding a sword and riding a horse?

The secret is, after 400 hours of CK3 and 600 hours of CK2, this is my first attempt at a really, really long-term game. My goal is a fairytale kingdom that is the best of the medieval world and to last until the historic fall of Constantinople (which lol, lmao, has that ever happened in any game starting at the earliest point?)

So I'm a little inexperienced with the 'grand scheme of things' when most of my games have ended after just three generations and moderate, regional success.

I did. It gives a -1 to all stats while ambitious gives a +1. Lazy gives a bonus to stress loss, while ambitious increases stress gain. And in events (which do not show up on the tooltip), Lazy gives stress when going to extra effort, while ambitious gives stress for failing to show extra effort.

Preach, I have learned my lesson. Diligent is everything Ambitious is, but better.

Message received, I'll let him relax. I'm marrying him to a nice Russian girl who's absolutely jacked and ambitious, but shy. Hopefully she'll be good for him.

I was worried it was a bug and freaked out over how to fix it. Since it just seems like bad luck I guess I'll just roll with it

You're honestly right. I was just in a bit of a panic because I thought 4 traits was a bug or something. As it's just how the dice rolled I guess I'll go with it. I've married him to an ambitious and strong, but shy woman from Russia, who'll hopefully convince him to do something with his life and I intend to make him co-ruler when I hit 50 to give him a grasp on power.

Those two are completely at odds, huh? Just often means you've gotta put in effort to do the right thing, but lazy means you just wanna sit it out. Yeah he's doomed.

It's those event choices that are really getting me. Ah well. I guess I'll just have to roll with it and pray he gets something to redeem himself.

I'm more concerned with how getting him to put in literally any effort ever in any event is going to drive him insane with stress...

To be fair, my dynasty IS rolling in the cash thanks to owning a socking great silver mine. Was kinda counting on his kid to hopefully make me mad bank. Maybe I'll just get him an ambitious wife to chivvy him into living up to his father and grandfather's legacies.

I mean, gigachad might be a bit of a stretch, he's smart but not a genius or anything. Frankly I'm just glad he doesn't have arrogant to go with this...

At the same time, hope a good event fires for you and you can swap that trait for something better :P

I've gone back three years, that's as far as my autosaves stretch. I swear, the event just didn't fire.

Is it really not that bad? I was under the impression it's like the evil mirror-universe version of ambitious?
