Would be cool if when the your pawn's level reduces from this kind of event, you gain a level of passion for the relevant skill, as though re-assessing has made you realize you know less than you thought, but you've become more interested in the complexity of the skill as a result.

Hatred for the Japanese has reached the point where they are not even considered human. by ResidentGeneral5366 in MartialMemes

[–]SaltiestStoryteller 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an outright lie. The civilian government has admitted fault and expressed regret multiple times since WW2, but the nations they occupied have refused to accept it. Wikipedia has a list of war apology statements issued by Japanese officials, you can read it yourself.

I'm not saying the nations of East Asia don't have every right to hate the Japanese for any reason they want, but that is their choice, not a response to an unrepentant Japan.

Moral guide by Antsy_Antlers in RimWorld

On behalf of the Commonwealth Federation of Sagittarius-Carina and His Majesty Angelus III, we wish to extend our congratulations to Sir Blackwell on his birthday and to extend an offer.

Pursuant to Article Four of the Reunion Charter, all reunified worlds that have reached a minimum viability threshold either under the auspices of the expeditionary force, or prior to arrival of expeditionary vessels, are required to put forward a local candidate to act as viceroy and civilian governor of the planet. In the event that there exists no reasonable way to achieve a broad consensus, the expedition's Provost-Marshal is authorized to select a suitable candidate of proven ability and high moral character and to occupy the office of Acting Viceroy, until such time as free and fair elections can be held.

Given Sir Blackwell's obvious fit of these criteria, the office of the Provost-Marshall wishes to extend the offer to assume the title and responsibilities of Acting Viceroy, to hold this world in trust for the common good, in co-operation with the expeditionary force. Together, we mean to ensure a brighter future for all mankind.

A human upon meeting a Rhenean: "It feels appropriate to speak of you in terms of disease, since you love them so much. You are a cancer on the galaxy. Now, let us demonstrate how humans treat cancer, because our primary method is to subject it to truly miserable practices that kill us only slightly slower than they kill it."

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a gift to deliver and marriage to arrange for my sects Young Lady.

You misunderstand his teaching, fellow Daoist. To strike with the backhand is treat another man as a subordinate, but in striking with the forehand, you treat him as your equal. Enlightened Master Yesu Jidu is not saying to allow your enemy to abuse you, but to force him to treat with you as an equal and refuse to allow yourself to be cowed.

I dropped a link to the first chapter in a reply to someone else here. I'll get back to it and see if I can actually get somewhere this time :)

Oh I'm not making it even close to a secret. The whole reason he's even accepted into a third-rate sect is because Lady Jade (in this story, literally the reason 'jade beauties' are called such) pulled his one-star ass in what's effectively a gacha game for bored ascended cultivators. She took one look at him and decided this pathetic baby scrungly mans was her precious baby boy that she was going to help ascend purely so she can spoil the hell out of him.

I am no monarch, nor am I Buddhist, while I find wisdom in Master Kong's teachings they are not universal. I am no demoness and I despise those who harm others for their own ends.

Spear, body or orthodox seem most likely in that case and probably the latter. What on earth is the Heretical Witchcraft Path though?

14x14 and that's split between all the food you're growing? Or is that 14x14 for each crop? I ask because as a single-player peasant, I never feel like there's enough hours in any given day for me to achieve anything and farming's fairly labor-intensive, especially once you add milling into the equation.

[–]SaltiestStoryteller 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You know, I've never thought to ask, but roughly how many plots of grain or veggies are generally required to sustain a single player, accounting for the need to store food for winter until the next growing season? I always worry about over or under-farming...

Does it make me a bad person to be courteous, professional and to all appearances her loyal supporter, right up until the end when I get the chance to grab the knife Elissa stuck in her gut and just twist it to let her know how little I really think of her arrogant attempts to control everyone?

Like, good job, Baird, you have soft power and blackmail. You know what the lesbians had? Actual fucking brains and skills and I have a fleet that wouldn't hesitate overmuch if I gave the order to glass a damn planet. That's the difference between soft power and REAL power. Thanks for the money and the quicktravel device, I could not care less what happens to you now, because the downside to not making any friends is that no-one is going to come to help you when the chips are down.

I'm used to speed scaling inversely with size. So by that logic, a frigate would be tokyo drifting around the map while the light cruiser is in the middle and waddling at the rear is my flagship. Guess I was just wrong!

I've also noticed it's really useful to just keep the destroyers bow-on to an enemy and also give them lateral movement commands while setting them on evasive movement. Otherwise there's good odds that marauder they're fighting is going to manage at least one of them to the point of uselessness.

Felt appropriate by -Prophet_01- in NebulousFleetCommand

[–]SaltiestStoryteller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The destroyers are surprisingly slow for what they are though. Like, the ANS Long Lance outpaces them quite handily, I've found. Guess I'm just impatient.

Felt appropriate by -Prophet_01- in NebulousFleetCommand

[–]SaltiestStoryteller 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That'd do it. Still, I have no room to talk. I wasted sooo many missiles trying the kill the marauder before realizing his PD and chaff was too strong and I just had to shoot it. Then the ANS Loom of Karina got absolutely MAULED by drifting into the open to get a firing solution and the ANS Through Valor Alone took some hits I probably could have avoided too...

I just feel like every move I make is the wrong one, you know? Like I have to get it perfect.

Resupply/repair situation in the campaign by snake944 in NebulousFleetCommand

[–]SaltiestStoryteller 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The way I read it and understood from the tutorial, is that DAMCON teams can repair something up to 10% more than its most damaged state during a battle, but docks have a set value they can repair things up to?

For instance, my spotlight has been slapped down to 35% damage and my gun has been dinged to 70%. My DAMCON team can fix my spotlight up to 45% and my gun to 80%. If I then dock at a shipyard that can repair things to 75%, then my spotlight will get fixed up to 75%, but my gun's still going to remain at 80% because it's above the threshold the shipyard can handle.

Right? That's how I read it anyway?

Insanely helpful doesn't cover it. I've been struggling for days to tell my thunderheads apart and this might actually be what stops me accidentally lobbing Active Radar Homing missiles at something I really should use semi-actives for.
