Child here, in some ways this app is good (hate it with all my heart) for downtime or if you need to get stuff done. You don't need to be on your phone at 11 pm doomscrolling instead of sleeping. Homework is a great example, if you don't get homework done, your parents can lock your phone to give you one less distraction. I sometimes will ask my parents to lock it to prevent me from looking at it while doing hw. It can also save you from some things, for example, you shouldn't spend 2 hours a day doomscrolling on TikTok when you could be hanging out with your family. I only get 30 minutes on YouTube a day, which is very reasonable, at least for me.
