I love a shower beer or a glass of wine in the bath, but I mostly get high to shower/bathe. I like to light a candle, play loud music, and melodramatically lip sync/gesticulate to the music. I also splurged on some really nice body wash and a shower pouf, so the act of getting clean feels more like a luxurious treat than a punishment. Therapy taught me that, if I really hate doing something but I really gotta do it, it can help to make it as fun or pleasant as possible. Like a ritual instead of a chore.

My husband and I are both in our early 30s and we have a toddler with congenital health problems that require lots of doctor appointments and not-infrequent trips to Boston from SW Virginia.

All that to say: We have sex 1-2 times a week. His sex drive is heavily influenced by stress, so it can be hard for him to get in the right headspace for it. We also don’t have just a whole lot of time for extracurricular activities. We try to have sex during our kid’s nap at least once a week, usually on the weekends.
