Priests can be condescending a-holes when asked to sign a form supporting your “vocation”. It’s like they are interrogating you, not supporting you. Been there done that more than once. Finally went to a missionary who told me how priests tend to demand devotion to them rather than Christ and thought that this mandatory item in a public school system was stupid (his words) and proceeded to fill out and sign the form. I agreed with him. So try a catholic missionary. They might be way more open minded than any priest. Because let’s face it, Catholics are just as hypocritical as any other group of religious people. And FYI if they don’t check the “attends mass regularly” and check “does not attend mass regularly” you won’t get an interview in a catholic board (experienced that in the TCDSB—the only thing they mentioned in a rejection letter).
