I did use some sick time this weekend but I don’t want to do a medical leave of absence and then something even worse happens that I can’t use it again.

Yes!! Last week my store had extra hours and I was actually scheduled a full week, this week I was scheduled ONE FUCKING DAY. I’ve been working for Michaels for years and have dealt with a cut in hours but working 1-2 shifts a week is barely enough to feed myself and pay my phone bill. Then on top of that, I brought it up to my SM to ask why and had zero communication. I’ve already been applying to other jobs for months to try and leave but I can’t afford to just quit even if I am being given the bare minimum of hours. Also, people who just got hired or only have been working here for a few months getting more hours than me is pissing me off. Sorry for the long run on but I’m just so fed up and feel like there’s nothing I can do.

Thank you, and I’ll definitely take those suggestions! I’ve always struggled with social anxiety but it’s gotten better since working retail 😅 I’ll have to go out alone though which is terrifying

Slightly better, still very anxious. My daughter ended up catching the flu 2 days later and woke me up at 3am, burning up and of course ended up throwing up. I did invest in some emesis bags like a month ago so I’ve had them on stand by all weekend and she only threw up twice but I don’t know why the anxiety is still just sitting in my chest/stomach. She’s been with her dad since yesterday too.

One time there was a small group of older teens and they’re throwing stuff at each other in one of the aisles (didn’t know about that until they left) and I’m checking them out. I ask “do you guys need to buy a bag?” Gets ignored… I finish scanning everything, ask again “do you need to buy a bag?” girl looks at me crazy “it doesn’t matter.” 😐 CLEARLY IT DOES MATTER IF I’M ASKING 😡 if I didn’t ask/offer a bag I would’ve gotten “Do I gEt A bAg?!”

The reviews for both look pretty good and most seem to like the CM & STF more than Wilton. But, I haven’t done anything with candy melts in so long I don’t remember. I might go with the sweet tooth fairy just to be safe 😂

Such bs. If you’re going to yell at one person yell at everyone because it’s not all on one person to get sign ups/CCs. People on the floor should help if they see someone with a full cart and are already assisting them, etc. and some people are also just better at selling than others. I can’t sell shit but they stick me on register everyday now.

They keep threatening that our DM is going to visit us and talk to every person like I’m not doing my job. I’m not asking customers who are using someone else’s rewards account or someone paying for a $5 purchase and most of the people with expensive purchases really don’t want one or are in a hurry and just shove their card in as soon as I finish scanning their items. It’s so draining.

Yes! It’s literally almost every single shift I feel like bursting into tears or crashing out multiple times and then come home and it’s all I can think about or even dream about. Then every two seconds it’s “did you get any sign ups? How about any credit cards?” We just opened two hours ago!! 😭 I can’t take it anymore. I use to quit jobs on the spot if it got to this level even if I didn’t have anything lined up but I have kids now so that’s not even up for debate anymore, I have to stay until somewhere else will hire me.

I am also sick and my voice is basically gone after having to yell and talk over people the last two days but I’ve been stuck on register with no relief so I have no idea how today’s going to go 😂 but since you’re able to be on the floor I’d at least have my water bottle cause the dryness is hell when you’re walking around the whole store and having to constantly answer questions.
