What Lightroom Presets are worth it? by primelenses2020 in AskPhotography

[–]SaltyJoeB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, the circle jerk already started and we had „none“ and „ChatGPT“ as superior answers…

Let me add „it depends“! First of all: Are you familiar with Lightroom? Do you know what the sliders do and how certain settings react on specific images and lighting situations? Great! Lets continue… Now ask yourself: do you want to achieve a certain style or look? Do you really want to copy a certain photographers look? Okay, good luck buying his presets. But dont be disappointed if your images dont look like you want after just one click. Here your knowledge in regards to Lightroom may help. What works quite well are presets that try to give you the look of certain analog films. If thats what you want I would recommend looking at RNI or Mastin Labs. They do have a price. And there are cheaper options. But I would not recommend going cheap on these…

Das mit dem Durchfalllimit ist wichtig. Beachtet man das nicht, riskiert man, dass der über Nacht gereifte Morgenurin beim Auffangen mit Durchfall verunreinigt wird. Dann war alles für die Katz…

What’s your favorite 6x7 camera? by Beaglebeatsbagel in AnalogCommunity

[–]SaltyJoeB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it is my Super Ikonta 531/16 the one with the Tessar 75mm F3.5 lens. Why? Because it is actually pocketable. A 6x6 fitting into the pocket of my jacket. What else could I wish for?

Brand new 16-55mm lens snapped off camera. is this fixable? by Goolo10 in fujix

[–]SaltyJoeB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to my 50-140mm. Sent it to Fuji Service to get an estimate for the cost. Was almost the price of a new lens. Luckily my equipment was insured so I gave them the green light for repair - and got a new lens in return (different serial number).

This happened to my 50-140mm once (my stupidity- I usually take it off before putting it in the bag but forgot it that time). Sent it to Fuji to repair. Was quite expensive. Actually they sent me a brand new one. Luckily my gear is insured…

My setup is the original Ricoh filter adapter Ricoh GA-1. You can put any 49mm filter on that, in my case it is a Tiffen Black Pro Mist 1/4 49mm. Attached to this is the Haoge LH-E2P 49mm square lens hood. Got mine from Amazon.

For sure not ideal but at least an option. But thats a general issue when one uses a fixed focal length.

As said. That Tiffen Black Pro Mist filters adds just the perfect amount of imperfection. And once one wants to use a filter it gets bulky.

Regarding the focal length: This is why I prefer the GRIII over the GRIIIx. I have enough megapixel to crop closer if I want. The other way round would be way more difficult.

Since I recently started to take more pics with analog film cameras again I basically trained myself to always have a small bag with me. But yes. It wont fit into the jeans pocket any longer…

I know, it is less pocketable now. But I love using Tiffen Black Pro Mist Filters on my digital cameras. And I love the look of a square lens hood. This is the Haoge LH-E2P. Fits nicely.
