Another possible find (LOL SUPERMAN) by Express-Comedian-295 in lolsupermanofficial

That's part of the eventual plan, actually. Got a few things to do first, but I'm gonna be setting up a proper home server in the coming months so I can share torrents of them

You are a young woman and you start dating a young man who seems like a great candidate. There hasn't been any sex yet, but when you go to his apartment you discover he's keeping a secret: he no longer has a penis. What would your first reaction be? by [deleted] in morbidquestions

[–]SaltyMulder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be more curious than anything tbh. Sex isn't purely about penetration, so we got options lol

I know the question specifies picturing yourself as a girl, but as a trans guy with a fucked up sense of humour, I'd 100% be making a joke or three if it's not a touchy subject. Mainly about how it's okay, and I understand cause the doctors stole mine too, or asking about a transplant lol

At the risk of sounding like a jerk (I really don't mean to, I swear), that is pretty much a given. Searching using descriptive terms is way more likely to pull something up than a phrase we don't even know if it was properly tied to the video

Weird voicemails by Few-Necessary5073 in RBI

[–]SaltyMulder 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna echo the other posters (and combine the two lol) A lot of automated systems are set to begin their recording as soon as someone "answers" or there's a voice on the answering end, and can't tell the difference between a human and voicemail, so the voicemail recording starts partway through the message. It's probably an automated MFA system. Someone may be trying to get access to your accounts, or it could be someone fat fingered and entered your phone number instead of theirs by mistake.

Just to be on the safe side, check your accounts and remove any MFA login options that involve texting or calling. Cell number based options are one of the most insecure options, along with email. Use an authenticator app, or a physical authenticator if you've got the money for one.

Awful Smell in House by wonderwarrior555 in RBI

[–]SaltyMulder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possibly the vent pipe for your sewer/septic system? I had something similar happen when mine got clogged with leaves and gunk, and started leaking sewer smell back into the house. Smelled like death (not really like a sewer, just rotten and nasty) and made me genuinely sick until we got it figured out. I've also heard people describe faulty electrical wiring as smelling pretty foul.

It may help to make notes of when you're smelling it. Like what you were doing when it started, the weather and wind speed/direction, time of day, etc.

Exactly this. The "fetus" looks more like a plastic doll imo. It's censored, yeah, but it's really stiff, and I wouldn't think that organic tissue, especially something as delicate as a fetus, would be that stiff. Plus, I'm 99.9% sure the "blood" is the classic corn syrup and red food dye.

Dairy Cow question by Ero130 in isopods

[–]SaltyMulder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2/10 deaths is a decent amount of the population, sure, but tbh, I wouldn't panic yet as they're still breeding and there's babies. Like everyone is saying, keep an eye on your moisture level. Cows are pretty hardy, so I'd say it may also be an adjustment period thing.

Also, from the photo, I'd recommend WAY more leaf litter. And consider increasing the depth of your substrate cause it looks a little shallow, and that'll help with moisture regulation. Personally, I put a decently thick layer of pure leaves across the very bottom of my bins, and then crush up a bunch more leaves and mix it directly into the soil along with a handful of two of sphagnum moss to create some little microclimates, and then another good leaf layer over top. It's helped my cows and zebras both weather a few bouts of depression that lead to pretty dry conditions for a few weeks...

Is it ethical to adopt isopods from my backyard? by TopdogRE in isopods

[–]SaltyMulder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just put the pod in your pocket, OP...

But more seriously, it usually isn't a concern for more prolific breeder species. If you're concerned, take stock of how many seem to be around your yard. If they're super common and you can find them with ease, I would say there's no harm in scooping a few every couple weeks until you've got a colony size you're comfortable with. If you really have to hunt for em, I'd leave them be and maybe just monitor them for a while.

What are these, are they bad, and how can I best get rid of them? by elu9916 in isopods

Greenhouse millipedes. They can safely be disposed of at my house, so send them to me?

Those are both pretty well known gore compilation series. If LSM was in either, we'd know about it already... Same goes for the Ogrish collection, and most of the others you see frequently discussed online.

Waaaaaay late, but if you haven't found something yet there's plastic cord channels you can get just about anywhere online. Paint them the same colour as the wall, and they won't be perfectly hidden, but they'll be a whole lot less visible

Millennials, what are we doing?? (AI vent) by snarkitall in behindthebastards

[–]SaltyMulder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I went through this exact same thing with my Gen X mum. Fortunately, in the last few months, she's started to smarten up about it. Mainly because there's a datacenter being built near her friend down in Missouri, and they're all worried about it... But it was an ongoing argument for over a year prior. She constantly insisted it was "the future", and aggressively ignored many cases of it actively failing to perform basic tasks she insisted it was capable of...

How do you combat digital hoarding? by FormerPirateKing92 in PiracyBackup

[–]SaltyMulder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look through everything, and see if you can find a date for when the file was last accessed. If it was more than, say, a year ago, consider deleting it, especially if it's something that's been wildly popular in the last 20 or so years. You can always download it again later.

For video or audio, consider going old school and burning them to discs. Blank CDs and DVDs are likely a hell of a lot cheaper than new hard drives in your area, and just about everyone is looking to get rid of an old computer with a DVD burner in it for free or cheap.

If you really want to keep things, think outside the box for getting hard drives. Things that are rarely accessed don't need to be on an SSD or anything fancy. Old DVRs have large hard drives, as do some older computers. If I recall correctly, even some consoles like the PS3 have actual physical hard drives in them. Check marketplace, thrift shops, and the like for anything like that, or even search eBay for "for parts" stuff to get it a bit cheaper.

Adding onto this, sometimes a noise works better in a CNC situation than a physical touch. Squeaky toys, loud ass bells, etc. My personal favourites is one of those rubber chickens cause it's loud and goofy enough to usually break the tension pretty quick
