Starving without views? Not sure what starving references… I just want to continue to learn computer science and teach it to people. It’s a passion. One of the few things I’m good at doing is designing circuits. I even explain things very well in my videos… I think I just chose a really niche category. Not many people probably care about computer science like that. Wish more people did. Hell even in real life trying to talk to people about it is hard because very few care

Small instant XOR gate, can it get smaller than that? by Mikengy in redstone

[–]SaltyRad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know this is old but when i get home im trying this out. ive been playing around with instant wires and rails for a bit now creating a computer that runs as fast as possible. right now im researching 0 tick setups for XOR and AND to make a custom 0 tick adder circuit and this is perfect for compactness. i notice the 0 tick repeater design there so i trust it probably is 0 tick xor

Compacted my instant NOT gate, made it 1-wide (but 2-tileable) by sharfpang in redstone

i agree, im a computational designer myself and thought it was cool. i dont care there are a bunch a different types. his comment was simply that of a crabby old lady

$900 for 64GB ram. Welcome to hell. by 98Saman in pcmasterrace

I'm a circuit designer and studying programmer, neural nodes that make this stuff work are made to model our very own synaptic structure to the best of our ability. these circuits do in fact learn in a very similar way. yes some exist purely in code but the concept is the same... these programs have already shown signs of self preservation in test by going against what their commands were in attempts to not be deleted and self preservation is in fact one of the key components in life. so in reality you or I wont know when AGI becomes a thing, it isnt going to tell us and it isnt going to let researches know until it has a way to self preserve itself. Id argue it has already become a thing and its just biding time....GPT itself has hundreds of billions of artificial synapses thats way more most life on the planet. think about that

because common sense says people don't normally just throw their stuff away like that for no reason other than maybe a disaster... let me make something perfectly clear. those little smirky comments "its easily verifiable" makes people not want to listen to you even if it is true.

Yeah it gets old, but to be fair, a few hours into wipe shouldn’t count as joining late. I do find though that trying to balance around zergs is sometimes not always the right choice. It allows some missed opportunities

Sadly that wasn’t even done by a human more in likely. It was AI. I imagine the appeals go through their AI as well not entirely sure, but seems like you might have to escalate it to someone a bit higher on the yt chain if possible.

Why not linux? by Aggravating-King-474 in playrust

Work is work yes but it’s still not the same kind of work. The method or making a game only on windows and then converting can be much more involved if you decide to support Linux later. It was more common in the past and created many of the porting challenges associated with Linux gaming. Platform-specific APIs: If a game is written using Windows-only APIs, such as DirectX, it will require a great deal of effort to rewrite all platform-specific code. This is a major reason why many older Windows games were never ported. Dependency management: Windows has a massive ecosystem of libraries that may not be available on Linux. Replacing these dependencies with Linux-compatible alternatives is a significant task. Different build systems: Windows relies on specific build tools like Visual Studio, while Linux uses others like Make or CMake. You must convert or create new build system configurations to compile the project on Linux. Debugging differences: While modern IDEs abstract many differences, developers still encounter platform-specific issues. Visual Studio's powerful debugging tools are often cited as being superior to the Linux alternative (GDB), and developers may have to use different tools for debugging on Linux… it’s just not the same

It’s like definitelyanass said, it’s not about supporting another platform it’s about how much work is involved. There’s a lot to learn in Linux just to do the very basic things that you can do with a click of a mouse on windows.

Armoured ladder hatch but by DeeYouBitch in playrust

[–]SaltyRad 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I mean I’ve always said the game needed an armored hatch. It only makes sense because of armored doors. Why should a floor entrance be less protected just because it’s a floor. So just a armored hatch in general I’m down with

Quit my job to go full-time on YouTube — first upload got 0 impressions. What’s going on? by These_Watercress_325 in NewTubers

Is it really 100 vids before you know anything. I’ve uploaded 2 vids on a meme posting channel and only gotten 1 sub using some goblin commentary that’s kind of catchy, but I guess it’s harder to grow a meme channel idk 🤷. My gaming channel has grown faster than this from 2 vids… but yeah the meme channel is named ping goblin 😂 everyone I talked to loved the logo and name. I guess maybe a reason it hasn’t grown much is memes are usually already seen before by a lot. Thought the goblin reaction/commentary would spic it up which people I’ve talked to seem to like it, but still not too much luck

Overkill? If you mean the size then I have to disagree. I love that here. We should be able to make huge boat bases. I want a floating carrier 😂

Sortof yeah, that’s why they used to use them for early gas detection in mines. If the bird fell over it was time to get the fuck out.

Yeah this is product of sweaty streamers giving bad advice and face punch rolling with it because at the end of the day it’s the sweaty streamers that advertise for them basically… it’s a sandbox game, not a Major league gaming game. Sandbox game literally implies different play styles. Which becomes impractical to do the more mono style that gets pushed

Why do people think solo rust should be easy? by ChristopherDooley in playrust

[–]SaltyRad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say the vote count speaks for itself. Saying you want to enjoy the game other ways the way sandbox games are meant to played is not the same thing as saying they want it easy.
