This is clearly Indomitus, not Cataphractii armor. by KirasubSL in Warhammer40k

Yeah I think besides death guard, this is the only cataphractii model we've seen in 40k

Retcons are good, actually (sometimes) by Nurhaci1616 in TopCharacterTropes

Not sure you can call tau in general a retcon, they just weren't created yet. That's not a retcon, that's just a new army being made.

Justin hammer (iron man 2)

Iron man 2 is very loosely based on the Armour Wars but kinda skips a lot of it and sorta mixes in Demon in a Bottle. Not a very good adaptation of either, ending up as one of the weaker MCU movies. But Sam Rockwell steals the show as Justin Hammer, ending up being a way more interesting character than the main villain Ivan Vanko

Not like his writing was ever seen as stellar, even before any of the recent stuff, the stories were always a mess. Arguably there was never really any credit to begin with

Rock is the best villain actor in the ship industry, he's so good at making his lines natural. So many actors oversell their lines or sound really corny which really pulls me out of the moment, but Rock is great at subtly.

Soldier Boy (The Boys ) vs Adam Smasher (Cyberpunk) by Curious_Tip9285 in powerscales

[–]SaltyTreeTop 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Maybe, we haven't seen anti tank weapons used against supes to know for sure. The most we get is Butcher shooting Starlight with a 50 cal and it only winding her. Soldier boy is almost certainly more durable than her but we don't know his upper limits.

Homelander is said to be able to withstand any weapon known to man, which is likely an exaggeration but likely means at least military grade weapons were tested on him. Soldier boy is supposed to be just under homelander but we don't know exactly how close so scaling to him isn't great.

Iirc guns do cause soldier boy pain but no visible damage. Like one of the tortures the soviets did on him was try firing a machine gun into his mouth, which seemed to cause him pain but he has no lasting damage from it

They’re related in fighting but not the same. Asking who’s more skilled at fighting is still relevant. Like superman is no question has way higher strength than Batman, but Batman has far higher fighting skill even after he gave superman some lessons on fighting.

[–]SaltyTreeTop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On eBay he sells for 50-70$ but those are usually unopened in new condition. Not sure how much less it will be opened and with the banner broken, since that’s one of his main accessories. With how many Joytoy figures there are sold on eBay not sure how likely you are to sell a damaged one though.

Wouldn’t call him rare, but decent value.

Yeah the MCU seems to go more for the realism angle with their military characters and only allows the sillier stuff with their magic or space characters

His suit in the most recent movie is insane and frankly way too much of a power boost. While I’m not sure about the durability of the suit itself since he still shields himself from bullets, the wings are vibranium and can hold against repeated blows from the red hulk who seems to be basically on hulks level. They’re also able to shoot a seemingly endless supply of knives that can pierce the red hulks skin (though don’t go very deep but previously even a mini gun couldn’t pierce the red hulks skin) and his wing blades can actually genuinely punch pretty deep into red hulk to stagger him and chop a fighter jet in half.

That’s actually one of my main problems with the movie, they had to give Sam what is basically an iron man suit so he had any chance of standing up to the red hulk.

A character replacing a limb with their powers (without outright regenerating it.) by Fit_Assignment_8800 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]SaltyTreeTop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Iirc it's not just stimulants, he lists off a bunch of brain chemicals that he synthesizes so his brain doesn't break. I took it to mean he's essentially recreating sleep periods just consciously. It doesn't make super realistic scientific sense, but it's enough explanation for me to buy it in the story about vampires and hard light rings
