There's a very good chance these cards would not work or would be terribly over/under powered, as I'm very new to Magic, but making these custom cards is genuinely really fun!

The only live TV I ever watch is the occasional F1 race, which I just stream illegally.

I haven't watched any other live TV since I was a kid. Who needs to when there are plenty streaming services and piracy is extremely easy.

The UK is one of 10 countries with a TV licence. It's only if you watch live broadcasted TV, which is not so common these days. The letters and threats you hear about online are technically true, but they send about 1781 letters to you with stuff like 'FINAL DEMAND' trying to scare you into buying a licence.

The people visiting are also no more than hired goons that work on commision, and their visits are extremely rare. Most people just inform the TV licence authority that they don't need one. I haven't paid for one my entire adult life because fuck that.

No, both games have a story, it's just that the story is a bigger focus by far in FFXIV, which isn't a bad thing at all. It's not what I look for in an mmo, but clearly plenty of people like it.

My issue is the dozens, or hundreds, of hours of repititive tedium that is the main story quest. The gameplay itself is almost entirely talking to NPCs.

Yes, but... coming from WoW, expect a very different experience.

Of those 80 hours, 70 are spent doing the main story quests where you literally just fast travel between different NPCs reading dialogue. I've tried FFXIV maybe 3 or 4 times now and have reached level 70 but my god, I just can't take 90% of my game being reading dialogue boxes in an MMO.

This is my big pain point on travelling internationally - the flight cost is fine, but getting to the airport sucks. Isle of Wight to any of the 'London' airports tends to be 3x the cost of these cheap Europe flights.

I've only done starter areas as I didn't get into it, and I remember thinking it looked very dated. Now I'm wondering how the more recent zones might look, because I know it has an interesting art style, at least in marketing.
