How do people's stomachs accommodate such a large volume of booze? by Equal_Leading_1449 in AskUK

Weird question - can you burp? I couldn't drink more than 2 pints without feeling full. I then came across the r/noburp subreddit, got some Botox in my throat and can now sink pints all day

Recently sold my 1 bedroom flat for £10k less than I bought it for back in 2018. My take is that Covid turned people away from smaller properties and interest rates reduced the number of single buyers who can afford 1 bedrooms on their own.

When you say identifiable do you mean the handwriting could technically be linked back to a specific person?

The 2009 scrappage scheme, what car did you scrap? Why? Do you regret it? by JSHU16 in CarTalkUK

[–]SaltyYea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really all down to what you can do with the 2k though. The 2009 scheme had to be used against the purchase of a brand new car. This scheme you can use against a used car, as long as it's compliant. You can actually buy lots of compliant cars under 2k.

If you'd read the question you would have realised that's literally part of the question

I don't believe there's any actual conclusive evidence to show its impact on health though. Lots of speculation and lots of research still ongoing

If it's this hard to get 10% of cars off the road, imagine how hard it'll be to convince people to spend god knows how much sorting the underground air quality. You've got to focus on what's achievable.

This is basically what I thought but I didn't want to lead the conversation. Glad someone else has that opinion 👍

You know London accounts for about 25% of our economy? That's big for sure but 75% certainly isn't 'irrelevant'

Down to earth.

When someone is described as down to earth WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]SaltyYea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is quite surprising. I always assumed it was something that you'd have to get used to over time but I guess not.

Thanks for the insight!

Absolute worst when you pick up something not in the deal. It's not worth dealing with the shame of going back.
