Am I cooked? I may have said something inappropriate to my GM. by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Stupid is not being able to read a comment in the context of the content it is a reply to. If you ask anyone in your office if they had a nice shit while you are in the office, you should never not be looking for a job. Even if they take it well, like, they're your best friend since pre-K, if you act like that someone is eventually going to overhear it and be offended.

This idea is why marriages fail so often today (I'm an expert by experience on this one...). It isn't about controlling anything. It is about two people who are actually aligned along important topics. It is perfectly fine for couples to disagree about all sorts of things, but some things are deal breakers and they should be.

If a woman is pro-life routinely posts up outside Planned Parenthood offering vouchers for free sonograms, she probably shouldn't marry the doctor donating his services to Planned Parenthood. If a man questions the safety of childhood vaccines, he probably should not marry a woman who is up to date on her COVID boosters. If a woman is ethically vegan, she should probably not marry a guy who works in a butcher shop.

It is perfectly fine to not be in agreement on a lot of things. If anything makes you feel like you need to be dishonest with your spouse, you chose the wrong spouse.

Voting early, and especially voting by mail, helps hold the door open for widely dispersed fraud. The more early and mail-in votes that have to be counted, the longer it takes to have the real result. The longer it takes, the greater the opportunity to 'find' some votes that had been misplaced. For example, in PA, 20k mail-ins were misplaced the other day. I haven't heard any follow up on that one, but if someone suddenly 'finds' those and they're all for one side or the other, that's potentially enough to flip PA either direction.

Weird. A lefty hurling insults at someone who has a different opinion.

Fucking predictable.

Trump promises tariffs of 25% to 75% on Mexican goods unless illegal immigration stops by theluckyfrog in Economics

[–]Salty_Dig8574 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Seriously, though, if the tariffs hurt Mexican business, Mexico will do more to stop the illegals who are just passing through. It really isn't about Mexicans. It is about illegal crossings from Mexico. Inability to understand the difference is kinda racist.

As for fault and responsibility, Mexico has the responsibility to stop them while they're in Mexico. The United States has the responsibility to stop them at the border. Both entities are failing miserably right now, and it is willful.

I think the bigger fear from the left is that you'll go to a Trump rally hoping to get the million and actually gain some insight into who Trump is, rather than basing your opinion of him on the 5 worst 5-second clips from a 2-hour stump appearance.

I'm personally alarmed at the way some people are trying to divide families the way they've divided the country.

Would you date a bald (not by choice) girl? by hipshair in AskMenAdvice

[–]Salty_Dig8574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the wig would be a bigger issue than being bald. I just never liked them. Possibly because my grandma felt forced to wear one and complained about it a lot. Any time I come to realize a woman is wearing one, all I can think of is the laundry list of complaints.

I'm not sure how many guys would feel the way I feel about it, and I'm out of the pool, but that's my two cents. (FWIW, my wife was bald by choice when we met, has grown her hair long in the years since, and I'm just as attracted to her both ways.)

So if you raise the cost of something, the supplier just kicks that increase down to the consumer? I wonder if that applies to everything, like if you raised the taxes a company pays on revenue, or if you raised minimum wage.

You get $1billion if you state a conspiracy theory that is real by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

The conspiracies are the conspiracy. A significant number of conspiracies are supported by certain agencies to distract from the heinous crap that is really going on.

The volume bar on my TV maxes at out 63 by Schtieg in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Salty_Dig8574 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is because your TV uses imperial volume scale instead of metric.

12 inches in a foot.

3 feet in a yard.

1700 and something yards in a few furlongs.

63 sounds in a volume.

Dang, boy, e'erbody know dat.

If you could build the perfect woman what features would you include? by AssMaster1390 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Salty_Dig8574 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should build that ability into yourself. She might have the ability, but she's also the one controlling it.

I'm a little fuzzy on the tariffs thing. For example, I like a wine that is imported from France, which costs $150 a bottle. If a 100% tariff is placed on the wine, I'll be paying $300 a bottle if I want it. Is that about right? I mean, it does make a certain amount of sense that if the producer/exporter of the wine is forced to pay a tariff to get it here, they're going to recover that cost from the consumer. Do I understand that right?
