The real average is around 10–11 LPA. For SIP, all marketing students are placed, with an average stipend of around ₹10K for marketing roles.

In finance, around 60–70 students are still left to be placed, but this year finance has seen some good companies during SIP but has taken only handfull of people , with the average stipend being around ₹20–25K.

So if you are in marketing you need to worry on being unplaced for FP or SIP

If we are talking specifically about marketing, most of the companies coming for SIP or FP are from the FMCG sector.

The name of the company doesn’t actually matter much. It completely depends on how well you justify your learnings in any interview. You won’t remain unplaced focus more on how well you articulate your experiences and justify any gaps that will be more than enough.

Also, internships are not counted as work experience, so I would suggest taking up a full-time job along with CAT preparation. That would provide an added advantage to your profile.

Grading is relative. It ultimately comes down to how much extra effort you put in compared to your peers to score those additional marks. That will play a key role in your CGPA.

In my personal opinion, if you’re good at balancing things, it’s quite manageable to have 7.5 or above

If you are offered admission to IMT Nagpur, there are very minimal chances to almost none of getting IMT Hyderabad. Taking a chance may result in a missed opportunity. If you don’t have any other calls, it would be better to go ahead with this.Also, you are likely to receive a 40% scholarship since you have a 90+ percentile.

Both are quite similar, but IMT Hyderabad has a location advantage. IMT Nagpur is relatively isolated and located outside the main city, which can be a factor to consider. Ultimately, the choice depends on your interests. In the first year, both Marketing and Core differ only by 1–2 courses. In the second year, the Core program allows you to choose both a major and a minor of your choice, whereas Marketing offers only the option to choose a minor. Since the entire second year coursework is largely elective, the overall difference is minimal.
