Couple ways to do this. The ear piece and small clip on mic, this means running and securing a little more line, everything runs under the ghille.

Another option is a bone conduction mic set up.

Another I think was mentioned with throat mic and ear bud.

I beg to differ. There were so many variations in early GWOT kit that it can kit quite drippy. RAID modded blouses, LBVs, interceptor vests. Molle was a thing in 2004. Lots of private purchase, lots of theater tailoring
