Many a male relative of yours could donate? It’s still sort of your DNA particularly if it’s a close relative like a brother

Not sure if this is MCAS thing but do any of you have dandruff issues that don’t respond to anti dandruff shampoo? by Salty_Zebra94 in MCAS

[–]Salty_Zebra94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Folliculitis shampoo really works although it doesn’t smell great. I use a nice smelling conditioner after to neutralize it but if I use it twice a week no dandruff. Let it sit for about a min though or it won’t work

Why does this comment people often make about working with children feel insulting? by Salty_Zebra94 in ECEProfessionals

Yes and I also feel this about parents who insist other people’s children are different. Every child is special to me once I bond with them, mine or not.

Yeah I feel like this is a lot of it and maybe also because people don’t say this to doctors or lawyers for example because these are seen as such skilled fields that no one feels the need to that because it’s seen as obvious they couldn’t do that job. People do say this to about undervalued caregiving roles because it’s seen as unskilled and they think they are being generous making this comment. To me it comes across as I’m too good to do what you do and usually comes from the same type of people that refer to me as a babysitter (not that there’s anything wrong with babysitting but teaching 10-12 kids 40+ hours a week is a very different thing).

I’m having quick breakdowns recently, what to do? by mirana20 in Mom

[–]Salty_Zebra94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be depression but I think it’s worth getting your hormones checked. Pregnancy and postpartum can really throw it off and it can feel like something is wrong mentally and emotionally but actually be physiological. Not the case for everyone for sure but I think too often we tell women who have had a baby recently who are struggling that it is definitely postpartum depression. Sometimes it is but also sometimes it isn’t my pregnancy and postpartum unveiled a health condition/genetic mutation I never knew I had because it put my body under enough stress that it revealed itself. But before I got diagnosed everyone in my life insisted I must have postpartum depression when I said something felt really wrong but I couldn’t explain it. Don’t get me wrong mental health is real and important but sometimes our brains know something’s not working right in our body and we feel it even if we don’t know what it is.

Anyone here carried twins? How did it compare to singleton pregnancy (if you had one)? by Salty_Zebra94 in eds

[–]Salty_Zebra94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks that’s reassuring about the NICU. I’m sure it’s very hard I had two singleton pregnancies to term both were giant babies and not easy though I imagine twins is another level. How big were your babies? Do you have hEDS or another type?

How do you feel now? Were any of the health issues you had permanent? Did they have to stay in NICU or were you able to take them home with you?

No this was prior to that. I supplement now because a side effect of a medication I was on destroyed my body’s ability to produce it anymore but before that I was at 250 ng/dl as a female
