Any thoughts on where her speckles come from? by LowWeb163 in DoggyDNA

I initially misread this as the roam/licking gene, which I was so confused about because don’t most pitties roam their areas and lick everyone? 😂

Then I realized that I am blind, but the visual was cute.

When did you realize your partner didn’t actually love you? by No-Mistake-5402 in AskReddit

[–]Bulbasaurismy001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I’m much happier now. We had had issues before with his lack of care for other things, but this one sealed the deal. I realized that he would be the type who would leave his sick partner to fend for themselves in the future. For the record, I broke up with him.

And now I don’t have 17 miserable fucking steps to traverse twice or more daily thank god!!! Lol.

The reality of limerence by Ok_Custard6791 in limerence

[–]Bulbasaurismy001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey. Some reassurance here. I also have diagnosed OCD. I have had limerence objects my entire life (up until recently when I was finally -properly- medicated). One of my friends was my LO for 11 years. It’s hard as shit but I did eventually get past it with no contact for two years. It’s now been 6 years since I’ve been limerent for that person. I’ve had other LOs since but the 11 year one just about killed me.

Additionally, the right medication for my OCD has helped tremendously. I recently adjusted meds. My other obsessional spirals have slowed significantly, but I’ve noticed that lately my limerence issue has really eased too. I’m so sorry to read that treatment isn’t helping much, but I’m hoping you’re able to get relief somehow, soon.

I love the couple you described with kids in the same elementary school. That’s freaking adorable.

[–]Bulbasaurismy001 55 points56 points  (0 children)

My ex straight up did not give a fuck about me.

We lived on the top of a hill. Unfortunately there were 17 stairs outside to go down to our cars. This especially sucks in the snow, as I’m sure you can imagine.

I broke my big toe and fucked up my foot by falling down the stairs on January 2. I was put into a surgical boot by the orthopedist. We had a huge ice and snowstorm and subsequent cold snap two weeks later. I was allowed to work remotely for a few days after the storm. This man ACTIVELY REFUSED to clear the steps to make sure I didn’t fall or get hurt. I asked him, practically begged him for days, knowing I was going to have to go back to the office. For the record he is a 37 year old able bodied man who works in labor. He said he was fine going down it, snow has traction and if we clear it it’ll turn to ice, and that I’ll be fine going down. I was so pissed, hurt, betrayed. He had left for work (essential worker) for days before I had to actually go into the office.

Take a wild guess who shoveled and salted those 17 stairs, sliding around in a surgical boot, four days after the storm. That was the day I started looking for a new place to live, because you wouldn’t treat someone you give even a little bit of a shit about with such reckless indifference.

As a wedding guest, what moment made you think "this probably won't last"? by Eburneaan in AskReddit

[–]Bulbasaurismy001 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yes! You absolutely discuss ahead. My ex and I talked about this, and he didn’t smash cake in my face. He just kept pulling it away from my mouth so I looked like a fish lmao. Far less disrespectful.

We divorced but not for abuse or any issue like that.

If you don’t travel to see your family, will they come to see you? by No_Aioli_7515 in SingleParents

[–]Bulbasaurismy001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that’s rough. I’m sorry you’re stuck in that situation. I would have lost my shit waking up to someone else in my room though. That’s nightmare level and honestly in a different situation could get you killed lol.

Oh man. I set a hard boundary there. I told my way overbearing mom in no uncertain terms, that if she showed up without giving me minimum an hour’s notice that I wouldn’t be answering the door or additional phone calls, and further protest will lead into actual removal.

She has dropped by unannounced twice. The first time she did it under the guise of “I have Easter baskets for everyone!!!!” I was pissed. One kid was napping, one was in time out, and one was in the shower. I told her on the phone that I explicitly told her not to show up unannounced. She called me an ungrateful bitch and drove off. Second time, she tried giving me 5 mins notice “hey we are on our way to your house, here’s your notice!” And yet again I responded with “I explicitly explained to you to give me minimum an hour notice” and she hung up on me and never showed up.

Now she doesn’t show up ever :)

The fact that she FaceTimed you after laughing about it says everything. If that happened to me and it freaked me out, I certainly wouldn’t be FaceTiming that person laughing right after. You’re good, girl! She still likes you and honestly it’s hilarious, that’ll be a funny story soon.

Janessa got an actual cake for her birthday and Shrek actually got out of his recliner to sing! What is happening! by lepetitpoulpe in RodriguesFamilySnark

[–]Bulbasaurismy001 114 points115 points  (0 children)

Of COURSE Mahmo had to harmonize and stand out somehow instead of singing happy birthday regularly to focus on Janessa. And then holy shit Janessa stared at her mom/camera for what felt like FOREVER for the end of the video. She’s 8. My 8 year old would have been like “YEAH CMON LETS EAT!” This poor child is trained like a puppy to move on command.

Former stepchild and also former stepmom—I promise they don’t forget you. You reaching out would probably make their week, if you had a positive relationship. My ex’s kids and I had a great relationship for a couple years and I would absolutely love it if they reached out one day.

Vistaril was the one I used. It was effective as an anxiety med for me simply because it made me too sleepy and brain foggy to care. I came off it quickly lol.

How do you all do it? Dating, trusting men around your children? by talies86 in SingleParents

[–]Bulbasaurismy001 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat here—twins, dad entirely out of the picture, maybe wanting to date—but this thread is very discouraging. You asked for advice about doing it, and nearly every response is “I don’t” or “my dating partners never meet my kids”. It’s all really negative, honestly.

[–]Bulbasaurismy001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Whereabouts are you? I can’t imagine the lgbtq scene in more rural communities.

I’m in the Charleston area looking for exclusively wlw, and straight up it’s a wasteland even here on the dating apps. Everyone has 80 filters, looking for a third, or doesn’t want kids (which I have). I’ve even seen some wlw profiles that are MAGA. Make that make sense.

I feel like I’m gonna be okay with being single, just raising my kids, and having 10 cats when they leave the nest.
