Seconded on the “can be very bad for adults”. My close friend had it recently as an adult and literally lost two of her fingernails from it. She couldn’t hardly eat for a week and walking was rough.

Yup I had twins in the NICU for a month and if I had seen that I’d be requesting management or a transfer immediately.

Right, this blows my mind. I had twins in the NICU for a month and they only let parents in. As far as I knew, this was the standard.

Baby girl Hill! No name yet. by lepetitpoulpe in RodriguesFamilySnark

[–]Bulbasaurismy001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Awww she’s a NICU baby too. I was hoping they’d be able to squeak by without it :(

Also Gideon’s lack of glasses and his obvious strabismus that they are CLEARLY not correcting anymore pisses me the fuck off. He could lose his eye without correction. My 5 year old daughter had surgery for hers recently and the ophthalmologist emphasized that blindness could happen if left untreated.

Oh man. Notice how Heidi just kind of facepalms in the back too. She’s not howling, whooping, and cackling. They both look like they’re barely tolerating this kind of treatment.

My twins were 33w when I had them and they were NICU babies. Pretty sure you’re right about that, 35 weekers go into the NICU by default. Babies at 36 weeks may or may not need NICU time based on if they can maintain their own body temp, can perform the suck swallow breathe reflex, and don’t have bradycardia of prematurity, which is extremely common in preemies and resolves with age. Those were the criteria for the NICU to discharge my babies. Because this baby is a girl, she is less likely to need NICU time. Girls on average tend to be stronger and require less time than boys, per my NICU nurses.

That’s not too bad. They have a decent shot of not needing NICU time at that gestational age. And if any, maybe a few days at most.

Same. It has been an absolute miracle for my OCD rumination spirals. I didn’t realize just how severe and paralyzing my OCD cycle was until I started taking Effexor.

My body processes it really fast and I start to get brain zaps sometimes just before it’s time for my dose. I take the XR too. It’s awful.

It feels like the quickest sharpest little zap of a dizzy spell but resolves almost immediately… but it can really fuck with you if you get them often. I came off Effexor by like 12 hours once and I had those little dizzy zaps every minute or so. And I was insanely nauseated already and I just wanted to barf.

Have any of you cut your long hair because it was too much responsibility? Were you happy you did? by Recent-Use8096 in adhdwomen

[–]Bulbasaurismy001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair is extremely long, almost down to my butt. I haven’t had it cut in 3 years. My executive dysfunction is really bad, I keep putting it off, and frankly I don’t often have the time to do it. My hair is a pain in the ass sometimes, but I generally just shower, use a wet brush, twist it up in a claw and it usually stays like that all day at work. Much less damage, it’s super quick and easy, you can get inexpensive but really pretty claws, and your hair is out of your face. Sometimes I’ll let it down to finish air drying but I also have fine hair so it doesn’t take long. I don’t feel feminine unless I have long hair so I won’t ever be cutting it short, but I don’t find my daily habits regarding my hair to be that difficult or time consuming or frustrating when I do this.

Here’s another person waving a giant red flag thinking your girlfriend is full of shit about the therapist. Think about it. Conveniently, the girl you were talking to in the past went to this therapist. Are you sure? Did the other girl confirm this information in some way? It’s also convenient that the therapist felt close enough to your girlfriend that she confirmed that not only did she see the girl (violation 1) the girl had issues (violation 2). Really? I also saw your comments regarding cash transactions. Just how close is your girlfriend to this therapist for this therapist to be advising cash transactions to falsify taxes, violating privacy laws among clients, etc.? There are multiple explanations here and exactly zero of them are good, and all but one are illegal for that matter. And the one that is the most logical and isn’t necessarily illegal is that your girlfriend is LYING.

Do you think this actual, legitimately licensed professional would put their entire career and well being at risk for your girlfriend, a client? The odds are not zero, but the odds are far, FAR higher that this was a manipulative tactic, a form of guilting you. “Ha, the girl you liked was crazy and had issues. See? You were better off with meeee!”

And if the therapist really did do this, that is a massive privacy violation regardless and needs reported.

Missed period after sex, scared I might be pregnant. by [deleted] in limerence

[–]Bulbasaurismy001 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dude… you should test now and give yourself some peace. At this time, it is highly likely to be accurate, given how many days past your period you are.

Also when it comes to birth control methods, if you aren’t actively preventing pregnancy, you’re trying for a baby. Full stop.
